Now nobody here who's been on CC for any length of time will be unaware that there is a lot of homophobic bullying on the site.

I've been on the receiving end of much of it. I've been pushed a lot into positions where I treat every post as hostile, had calls for my death up for polls, received sexually explicit PMs calling me PMs. Hell, I was banned for using the word "gay". Do you think things are getting better?

Depends on the person. Some people on here don't have an issue. Others have made it perfectly clear that they view homosexuals as less than human (and had an odd way derogatory word, though I don't know if you were around during that) , while still others haven't really said one way or another.

Personally, I have no problems with you or any other homosexual. I don't judge people in general on such things for a variety of reasons. First and foremost, you're attracted to whom you're attracted to, it's between consenting adults, and everyone has the right to love who they want to. Sadly, there are always people that will hate simply because it is easier to hate than to understand or at least leave alone.

Everybody's too scared to post in this thread; therefor, I will post for all the homophobic CC patrons that would like to post something but feel if they do post something, somehow they will magically turn gay.

Banned for using the word "gay"??? Seriously? If so, that is just plain wrong and, as a minimum, that ban should be taken off from the escalation of penalties. I mean, seriously, that is actually reason for you to complain to the CC legal department if you did not already!

That said, I can remember when this forum was a much better place to just "be". We had a lot of interesting, sometimes intense debates. I believe a number of us have received warnings for pushing the envelope, but now I find actual vulgarities, (F**k being one), going by without even a notice. I cannot say that I am really seeing more tolerance, rather I am seeing more allowance for negativity and vulgarity.

Beyond that, any forum with a variety of people is going to find differing opinions. I don't think we want or need a place where simply expressing opposition to homosexuality is wrong (and not suggesting that is what you are saying). However, anyone making true real life threats of ANY kind for ANY reason should result in an instant and permanent ban. That is, someone saying "if I knew you in real life, I would punch you" might deserve a warning, perhaps a ban if it continues. Anyone pming you saying "I am going to find you and attack you" is something to be taken seriously, warranting a ban at a minimum, and, depending on the circumstances, perhaps even warranting law enforcement contact (if there is legitimate reason to believe the person can locate you and carry out the threat).

I am not sure if CC is drawing that line right now or not. In the past, they were perhaps cracking down a tad too much. Now, perhaps they are letting a bit too much slide. It might be simply that they don't have the volunteers they used to have as well.

If you are talking about threads specifically on homophobia, and that have notgone off-topic or gotten too rude to continue, then OK.

If you are just talking about all threads about homosexuality or reviving threads that were closed due to harsh vulgarities and the like, then absolutely not. If that is your intent, then I would actually say you are exhibiting minor homophobia, or just plain lack of consideration for differing ideas. (that is, yes, I know some people just don't want so many "political" discussions, but you are always free to ignore them and start threads on the topics you personally prefer).

I complained and was told by BGtheBrain that it was equivalent to using the N-word. I managed to get them to change the policy via the suggestions thread, but they were unwilling to revoke any bans.

They also refused to tell me where my use of the word got me the ban.

obviously they are better. You just gave examples of horrendous torture and how you people used to be treated. Whereas now you get banned just for using the G-word. I'm betting you could not see the ginormous advances in progress because you were banned.

....Unless... it could be possible that you are coming around in agreement that in some ways the LGBT movement has gone way too far whilst more and more individuals are starting to act like the very same hateful bigoted intolerant tyrants they have long complained the movement was oppressed by. Saxi doesn't send me anything and I don't see what he sends other people, so I have no idea if what he sends people is funny. I stated that his game chat and forum posts were funny (the funniest I've ever read anywhere).

I don't know if it was hatred. I do know that it was not irrational. Regardless, it did not reference your sexual preference, so you can hardly call it homophobic.

Your response to my post continues to raise the concern that you do not adequately comprehend the English language.
