-------Yes,outside of Good Old George....The Greatest American General. But still,The Greatest American strategist Robert E.Lee. Offered the head of the USA army. He was able to be only one of a few...to tell the USA government...kiss my ass!
-------He would have won the battle of Gettysburg...If for not 2 things...
-------1)If he would of not switched his game plan. From a GO strategy to a Chess strategy. Like Washington used against the British. Also General Vo Nguyen Giap used against America in Vietnam. I mean we won our Revl.War with it. How could America lose by it? Vietnam.
-------2)If J.E.B. Stuart's troops had not been just riding around. Showed up late to the fight. Which help Custer hold them off from getting around the Union line. In which case Jeb would of zapped the Union guns. That were facing Pickett.Pickett's men did reach the Union troops but "battered". This time,If Stuart takes the guns. Pickett's troops destroy what is left of the Union army at Gettysburg...So close... ConfederateSS.out!(The Blue and Silver Rebellion)....

Sorry, I don't share your opinion of Robert E. Lee.

I shall mourn for my country and for the welfare and progress of mankind. If the Union is dissolved and the Government disrupted, I shall return to my native State and share the miseries of my people, and, save in defense will draw my sword on none.

They do not know what they say. If it came to a conflict of arms, the war will last at least four years. Northern politicians will not appreciate the determination and pluck of the South, and Southern politicians do not appreciate the numbers, resources, and patient perseverance of the North. Both sides forget that we are all Americans. I foresee that our country will pass through a terrible ordeal, a necessary expiation, perhaps, for our national sins.

Lee knew what the fire eaters were going to unleash upon everyone, yet under the thin veneer of loyalty to the state he participated in the releasing of the dogs of war that devastated his own people.

Still, otherwise a rather smart general.

Robert E Lee was a traitor! He was responsible for more American deaths in the Civil War than all the wars combined.

He should have been hanged for prolonging the misery.
