So, being anti- poliiticaly correct is kind of a lazy talking point nowadays. I'm interested in figuring out the laziest argument you're come across.

Clearly the first one is the laziest because it can be applied to any situation.

I take back my post in another thread stating that the only people who say 'political correctness' are people complaining about it. Apparently Symmetry says 'political correctness' as well.

Laziness is a virtue. It was laziness that brought us everything you use. The chainsaw was invented by some man who really hated using those old saw blades and an axe to cut firewood. It was laziness that brought you a computer because some dude had the idea of making a machine do all the tedious calculations.

Also, blm is racist. Or, it's got as many racist components as the tea party did/does.. Something something death squads.

I think that there has to be a baseline level of politeness.an accepted level of communication. I think that's key to human behaviour as a society.

The boundaries get pushed around a lot, but that's kind of the point. Political Correctness is about how we talk to other people. It's a basic level of civility that should be, and is, tested regularly.

I don't think it's a matter of sugar-coating. It's mostly about including people.I think that having that kind of spectrum of polte conversation encourages honesty. Don't dismiss someone out of hand, and you'll get an honest response.

I think a lot of people mistake politeness for weakness. As if being civil is a kind of flaw, and being politically incorrect is somehow equivalent to honesty.

If "PC" means "you mustn't offend anybody" then it's silly. If it means "don't be deliberately insensitive" I'm fine with it.

I like that phrase. I've always liked Stewart Lee's term that it's "institutionalised politeness". Both accept the term for what it is. A way to talk to other people.

And if that ain't what politics is about, I don't know what is.

Yep, I am straight white male. I hope that doesn't take away any merits my arguments might have. The fact that someone is scolded for expressing skepticism of issues that the PC agenda tries to propagate is unnerving. If PC agenda or any of it's components are the right thing to do, then they should be able to stand to public scrutiny. I feel like PC tries to minimize this dialogue with the threat of social ostracism.
