Zoo staff in Cincinnati recently responded to reports of a black primate being in the presence of a child in a public space.
The black primate was then shot by white primate zoo staff in Cincinnati after raising his hands suddenly.
Defenders of the zoo pointed out the zoo staff had no way of knowing whether Harambe was raising his hands to protect the child or draw an automatic weapon from within his fur.
Critics of the zoo have pointed out that no white primates have been killed in similar circumstances in 2016, claiming that a white primate would not have been treated in the same way.

Let's see... a member of a rare and endangered species, or a member of a pestilent fast-breeding species that has occupied every corner of the planet and is rapidly in the process of turning it into a desert. I know who I'd shoot, and colour has nothing to do with it.

Linda is a horrible parent. How do you let your four year old climb fences and fall in the gorilla display?

The NFL won't let you make a custom jersey that says Harambe. This is a league-wide decision. I'm just about ready to be done with the NFL, who pays lip service to Gorillas but is involved in a conspiracy to keep them down.
The NHL features Harambe as a pre-set (at least for some teams). Hockey is superior in every way to other sports.
