I was going to go with a Lord of the Flies/ Robinson Crusoe joke, but then I remembered that the last book Scotty raved about was one of Ayn Rand's, and in the end it turned out he hadn't read it. He'd just watched Glen Beck talk about it.

So I dumbed the whole post down to an American TV reference.
