My vote obviously goes to Japan: a bit of sympathy towards a country that got nuked twice and then unleashed a Fukushima on itself seems in place.

China taught Japan everything from agriculture to cooking and everything in between. The japanese are what the chinese would be like if they lived on hundreds of small islands, dined mainly on fish and seaweed, and were chronically inbred.

there is no mainland china. Only china. This mainland nonsense is a western method of belittling china, and lending legitimacy to historically insignificant little faux rebellions. Pragmatic and merciful policies are the only thing stopping china reclaiming what is hers. That and the luxury of having your enemies and detractors all congregated in the one spot. Saves a lot of police work and intelligence gathering.

Once all the Communists have been strung from lamp-posts and the glorious Kuomintang has re-established a legitimate government in China, I think they'll be able to make a pretty nice country out of it. China has plenty going for it -- beautiful scenery, an interesting history, tons of resources and hard-working people. Just needs some non-criminal leaders.

In the meantime, my vote will stay on Japan.

Are you aware that Japan is larger than Germany? You say inbred, I say purity of race. Those two nations should definitely team-up someday.
