Metsfanmax has been caught telling farmers they are 'rapists' for taking the milk from cows:

The Vegan Society describes veganism as "the fastest-growing lifestyle movement," with demand for vegan and vegetarian food increasing ten-fold last year.

Research by Ipsos Mori in 2016 suggested at least 542,000 people - or 1.05% of the 15-and-over population in England, Scotland and Wales - were following a vegan diet.

Ten years earlier the estimated number of vegans was just 150,000.

The society says it does not condone any illegal activity, but provides evidence-based information on issues related to veganism. It is currently funding academic research to understand what prevents people from being vegan and how best to make them change.

But some vegan activists are calling farmers who have raised animals for generations murderers for killing animals, or rapists for taking their milk.

Are vegans the new BLM?

Would they change their tunes if they tried a BLT?

As a vegetarian who still misses the taste of meat, pork is the worst meat and it's not even close. Bacon is mediocre at best and you guys just like the taste of salt because your palate is garbage.

So bacon is meat for slobs with unrefined palates, but a piece of squished up meat covered in cheese and sauce is for gourmets?

Anyways that's besides the point, I couldn't care less whether or not you eat meat. What I really want to know is: do you feel it's fair to say that cows have been raped to produce the milk and cheese you consume? Is everyone on this forum complicit in the organized rape of cows?

I mean, you're the one offering deli sandwiches as the way to give vegans some weird meat epiphany.

I'm a pretty hyperbolic person, but I'm not really feeling like one to wade in on cow consent and how that might be roped into discussions of rape. Cows obviously take relief from being milked, but are kept in that state for a reason, which does bring up ethics concerns. But I don't think "rape" is the best line here. I mean, we can barely get dudes to concede thal raping a person is rape, much less animals.

He has some good points.

For example here my kids ordered pork ribs yesterday and a couple of them were nasty.

The Chinese meal shops around here tend to make the best pig parts, yet on occasion they will cook up some fear factor worthy cuisine. Anyway...

I'll eat anything on 4 legs, including horse meat.

Just last night I ate a 2 legged creature in bed.

I'll include birds in my diet too.

That's a sensible choice of meat at your age. Don't want too much fat weighing your heart down.

Sorry, I have to take exception to that. Pork is by far the best meat. A massive heap of roast pork and sauerkraut with a flagon of Pilsner is by far the best dinner overall.

Even setting aside my natural pride in my national dish, pork is the best meat objectively speaking. Biochemically it's closer to human meat than any other generally-available game, so it comes closest to the exact blend of amino acids that your own body demands. That's not a big deal, but seeing as there is no other objective standard for meat, it's the best you're going to do.

Rape is a pretty narrowly-defined term, and I don't think it really applies. In the general sense, though, we do exploit animals in cruel ways.

Videos posted by animal-rights groups give you some glimpse of it, but until you've worked on a factory farm, you have no real idea just how brutal and barbaric it is.

I mean, that's as much an argument for cannibalism as it is for eating pork. Taste is definitely subjective, and I've had decent tenderloins and sausages. Pile enough seasoning on (even salt) and it can be saved. It's not inedible. But god help us if we had to get all our nutrients from a single source, because the bland flavor and shitty texture of pork would ruin any sense of culinary decency.

There's absolutely no way of coming up with a conclusion for this topic.

Logic won't help. I mean yeah you can pick a side and work your best logic and whatever but it's one of those not-exactly paradoxes but things that can't be solved. By the time we've moved on to eat only plants we will already have discovered that plants are sentient and suffer when we take their fruits.

Perhaps we should devote more time to poetry. I'm tired of trying to understand these kind of things. We are putting more and more weight on our life and life choices everyday, the awareness of the difference of being successful or a loser in life in kids these days is worrisome. We are thrown into existence, then the bases of our later life personality are formed impregnated of emotional issues, then we say we make logical decisions when it's all intertangled.


Those who decide to continue to eat meat at some level suffer. There was no blank state in which we decided we were going to eat meat and didn't give a shit about other animals.
