The 81 year-old Anthony Kennedy said he's done with his Supreme Court gig at the end of the month and will now pursue his dream of touring with his ABBA cover band.

Meanwhile, 85 year-old Ruth Bader Ginsberg is circling the drain, possibly giving Trump the hat-trick!
Kennedy's decision announced Wednesday, the court's final day releasing decisions for the current term, followed a quiet campaign by the Trump White House and its allies to convince Kennedy that it was a suitable time for him to retire and that his replacement would be an esteemed and reputable jurist.
Kennedy's son Justin, knows Donald Trump Jr. through work in New York real estate. Kennedy’s other son, Gregory, worked briefly last year on the Trump transition team, handling financial issues related to NASA.

Meh, what're they gonna do? Cry, piss and moan. Throw tantrums and get lost in a stupor of cognitive dissonance. Make more absurd comparisons and keep telling themselves they are the enlightened ones as more and more people get sick of them and just ignore them.
Now if the left wanna try and get widespread violent, I can honestly say that it won't work out like they think it will. They seem to be unaware that the vast majority, the silent majority, keep their mouths shut for the most part because this majority is busy working. But if the leftists push it then the silent majority can get very loud very quickly if it comes to it. It won't be pretty for the lefties. They best take care, it's their constant pushing the bounds that gave us Trump. If they push harder then something far worse will come for them.

Patches, one post you agree about your loss of rights as citizens, the next you are drooling about a right wing SCOTUS. I agree with TGD, it's freakin scary. A balanced court is a good court. A court that is all right wing, not sure that is Drumpf's intent, is a bad thing. I sure hope he appoints some progressives.

And notyou2, I'm mostly Libertarian. The "conservative" SCOTUS struck down Public Unions from extracting fees from non union workers. I'm for that.
The SCOTUS upheld Trump Travel Ban, while I'm not necessarily "for" that, I do acknowledge that Trump has the authority to do that. Whether or not he should have that authority is a matter of debate. But Obama had the same authority and Obama himself explained it truly when some complained he was abusing his power by announcing, on June 15, 2012, that his administration would stop prosecuting certain illegal aliens in certain cases. Obama also, by executive action, created the DACA program.
Therefor, if Obama had those powers, then Trump has the powers to prosecute Illegal aliens and to rescind the DACA program via executive order.
If you are going to be fair in your judgment, your logic, then you have no choice but to acknowledge Trump authority in these matters.
No, a Conservative SCOTUS doesn't bother, a Progressive SCOTUS on the other hand, does.

I don't want a conservative Supreme Court (or a liberal Supreme Court). I want a Supreme Court that will interpret and rule on legislation based upon what is written in the Constitution. I do not want a Supreme Court that will do f*ck all because a particular justice thinks that's what should happen. It just so happens that strict constructionist justices tend to be conservative and activist justices tend to be liberal. For example, Clarence Thomas, in my opinion, is the best; better than Scalia. Gorusch is a close second. Sotomayor is the worst. I don't agree with Trump's executive order at all. But it's certainly something that he has the power to do (and yes, President Obama did the same thing). If you want to change that policy, Congress needs to pass a law and you need to hold accountable any president, no matter the party, for what you think is an overreach. I think unions are great, but I also think that people shouldn't be required to join unions or pay union dues as that clearly violates the First Amendment. If you want to change those things, change the Constitution. If you want those things to change, don't just decide that the Supreme Court should change them just because they can. You might as well call the Supreme Court the "Third Legislature" if that's what you're going to do.
What I'm scared of is hypocritical and abhorrent liberal propaganda and "terrorism" becoming more frequent. I'm scared of Scalise situations. I'm scared of people sitting outside Republicans houses yelling at them all night. I'm scared of Occupy Wall Street preventing me from getting to work. I'm scared of the moron that won the primary in New York yesterday who appears to be a socialist. I'm scared that more and more people will continue to equate Republicans with Nazis and the United States with Handmaid's Tale. I'm scared that the media and Hollywood will continue to spout nonsense propaganda to young people. I'm scared that universities will continue to teach that censorship is okay and that if someone doesn't agree with you that makes them racist, homophobic, transphobic, privileged, or some other insult which reinforces that intellectual debate is not something one should have to engage in. Since President Obama was elected, I've seen both the red team and the blue team get more and more fringey and less intellectually honest. The Tea Party became a racist, xenophobic stronghold rather than a small government one. Conservative news media went from Rush Limbaugh to Steve Bannon in eight years, becoming more gross. Liberals became more likely to shout "racist" when you disagreed with the president and now have become obsessed with linking anything they disagree with to racism or Nazism. Seriously, just go read Twitter for an hour; just read the people with blue check marks. This is what the future of information's going to be. Scares the shit out of me.
Anyway, that's what I'm scared of.
