their "Rally"... because this is a major issue...

"A KKK rally held in Dayton, Ohio, on Saturday drew only nine members to the event and hundreds of counter protesters."

I think these people are complete idiots.. and their viewpoints are laughable.. but if America Thinks they are a National Problem.. consider 9 people showed up to this.. "Rally".. --> NINE..
A Mini-Van Full..
what I do not understand is why the Media insists on giving this organization a Global Platform by even talking about them in the first place...
I doubt these 9 KKK Members are even KKK members. most likely they are just Antifa dressed up to force this crap down our throats..

the world has other things we need to focus on... threats way more organized then 9 people...

        :P :o

For once NP and I agree on something. I agree that the media shouldn't give them the attention they want. But with hundreds of counter protesters there they did get the attention they wanted. We can't just ignore them but don't give them the extra attention that they want.

what's the best virtue signal...?

gather a few hundred protesters then have 9 of them ACT like KKK members with masks on..( because we all know the Racists of the KKK always cover their faces in 2019... ) and show how powerful your 'movement' is..

let's all worry about this 'national threat'...
I heard the local bowling league doesn't like Mongolian food ... get ready for 500 protestors at the bowling alley...….

I usually leave my Mongolian food in the back of the bus.

In that little closet.

I bet the people in the KKK rally, AND the counter-protestors would all get behind the fact that Boston is the Greatest Sports City.

Just saying. I’m looking for issues were we can find some common ground.

Well the KKK don't say "no" because those letters can be used to spell North...

So wait- the argument here is that these kinds of historically racist organisations should be allowed to organise their protests secretly? Or that anti-racist protests shouldn't be covered?

I'm not sure I get the two of you on this. NP clearly wants to blame people who oppose fascism for something. I'm just not sure why.

You just seem to blame the media, a vague term at the best of times, for "giving [the KKK] what they want" by showing that they're what? Massively outnumbered by protesters who oppose them? How was that what the KKK wanted?

I don't get it.

of course you do not 'get it' Sym..

the KKK wants attention..

they do not go out killing people to get attention..

they hold rallies in order to try to get their propaganda distributed to recruit new members.. covering them in the media.. is giving them exactly what they want.. --> attention, a platform & the notion they are still relevant... and the media falls right into that trap every single time..

how exactly would you stop anyone from organizing …"secretly".. ??

everyone has the right to voice their opinions.. opinions are just words.. giving those words merit and a global audience is what the KKK wants...
if the 9 people held their rally .. & no one protested.. no one covered it in the media.. & no one payed any attention to them... they would most likely just stop holding rallies...

no clue how you get I am "clearly wants to blame people who oppose fascism for something"
… Fascism is the forcible suppression of opposition

so who are the fascists in this situation.. ?
the racists voicing their opinions..
or
the protestors outnumbering the people voicing their opinions by a factor of 80 to 1 & forcibly suppressing their ability to voice that opinion..

That makes no sense. You should have a bit of a rethink on this one.

I was trying to say you should just pretend you understand... because you’re never going to get a good answer that you agree with and there’s going to be some convoluted logic coming your way... I can feel it.

I wasn’t trying to bash you.

The Klansmen in attendance used their constitutional right to gather, and the 650 Americans used their constitutional right to tell them to shut the hell up and that their views weren't welcome in the public discourse, which isn't "forcing" anybody to do anything, silly.

The Klan are the fascists, to answer your last question. Since, you know, they murdered and intimidated people for 100 years to try to create a religious and racially divided state. The fact that they only do the last part in theory now doesn't change who they are.

"Nine members from the Huey P. Newton Gun Club – a group that advocates for African American gun rights – arrived in full tactical gear with rifles. Dozens of other protesters were armed. "

9+ 'dozens' = around 40-50 protestors armed with guns.. ..

yeah.. no fascist mindset there. just a peaceful discussion of ideas...

every time I see the new klan ( or whatever they call themselves these days).. doing their stupid racist shit. .they just seem to be talking about what they believe. I do not see them getting violent with people who disagree with them.. they seem to want to debate the topic...

so how does the Klan forcibly suppress any opposition in 2019 or even within the past 20 years. ?
try answering the question without referencing anything from the previous 2 centuries.. otherwise your admitting the Democratic Party is a Fascist political party who promotes racism...

also --> "City officials during a press conference Saturday afternoon told reporters that Saturday's events cost the city around $650,000. They estimated more than 500 to 600 people came for the counterprotest."

the media & the 600 protestors giving these 9 idiots attention cost the city $650,000..... if no one protested & no media covered it.. Dayton could have spent $650,000 on feeding the homeless or helping poor kids get needed hospital visits..

Wait, so, if people aren't allowed to bring weapons to a counter-protest against a murderous hate group, when are they allowed to have guns?
The fact that the Klan stopped being a political force 50-odd years ago doesn't mean we should ignore them or consign them to the dustbin of history. They are also not the only last bastion of white hate in America, if you haven't forgotten Charlottesville or any of the other incidents of white terror in recent memory.
Also, you're in favor of socialism when it comes to redirecting money spent protecting 1st amendment rights, ok got it.

protesting an idea with debate is one thing.. bringing weapons is another... the left just seems to always bring weapons & get violent in the 21st century.. it's their new thing.. but their anti-fascist's...

spurgistan wrote:They are also not the only last bastion of white hate in America

what other 'bastion' of white hate are you referring too...? do you acknowledge their are also bastion's of black hate groups, Latino Hate groups & Islamic Hate Groups in America as well...?

spurgistan wrote:if you haven't forgotten Charlottesville or any of the other incidents of white terror in recent memory.

I clearly remember Charlottesville.. I remember the left attacking the guys car numerous times as he tried to leave.. until finally he apparently had had enough & tried to escape the scene by any means necessary.. unfortunately he killed someone in the process.. feel free to reference these white terror incidents your referring too.. but include all terror incidents .. not just White ones..

spurgistan wrote:Also, you're in favor of socialism when it comes to redirecting money spent protecting 1st amendment rights, ok got it.

no clue what your meaning by this.. the city would not have had to spend $650,000 if they had looked out their windows & seen 9 people standing there preaching their bullshit.. they could have just ignored them.. but when the city looked out their window & seen 600 people protesting & 10% of them are openly carrying guns. .it's is the responsibility of the city to try to calm down that situation and protect the residents of that city .. complete waste of money..
obviously you do not understand the point being made here.. the group wanted attention.. & the Left & the Media gave them exactly what they wanted.. a global platform.. ignoring them defeats their goal...

but all I see you doing is virtue signaling and not understanding the point.. so just keep on trucking.. you will never get it..
