GREAT news!

U.S. intelligence found that Russia is planning a military offensive against Ukraine involving 175,000 troops near the border as early as next year, according to an intelligence document obtained by The Washington Post. “The Russian plans call for a military offensive against Ukraine as soon as early 2022 with a scale of forces twice what we saw this past spring during Russia’s snap exercise near Ukraine’s borders,” an administration official told the outlet. “The plans involve extensive movement of 100 battalion tactical groups with an estimated 175,000 personnel, along with armor, artillery and equipment.”

Didn't US 'intelligence' also say that if their army left Afghanistan it wouldn't get taken over by the Taliban?

It's funny because if it was the other way round, and the US was making claims similar to Russia's 'Russophobia/genocide' claims, the US Congress would be clapping like baby seals at the thought of invading Ukraine.

What is the US equivalent of Ukraine? Cuba? Mexico? Canada?! I'll wait...

TGD nailed it.

It would be like Mexico (Ukraine) said it no longer recognized American authority over Arizona (Crimea) and it was committed to eventually retaking Arizona (Crimea).

Then the Russian government said it, too, didn't recognize American authority over Arizona (Crimea) .

Then the Russian government got all the nations of South and Central America (Europe) into a military alliance with it and stationed 10,000 special forces in Belize and Guatemala (Poland and Germany)

Then the Russian government strongly implied it would ask Mexico to join this same alliance.

Then the Russian government sent billions of dollars of weapons to Mexico.

Then the Russian government slapped a variety of economic sanctions on the U.S. and threatened to disconnect the U.S. from the SWIFT banking system.

Meanwhile, the U.S. only has a population of 150MM instead of 300MM and its only allies are Haiti (Kazahkstan) and the Dominican Republic (Belarus).

After this, the U.S. tells Russia all is forgiven if Russia could just kindly guarantee it won't move troops into Mexico and put them along the U.S. border and Russia says "I mean, we can't really promise anything! LOL."

I mean the entire US is built on native peoples being told to feck off by more powerful people with bigger weapons, but if you wanted some more contemporary examples then Iraq, Afghanistan, Taiwan, Korea etc. It's all the same game.

I don't think the US is any worse than any other nation with equivalent power, I just think the double standard is funny.

All native peoples voluntarily surrendered any land they purported to own in exchange for blankets, whiskey, and small brass medallions. (See Worcester v. Georgia.)

The fact they were shit negotiators is no one's fault but their own. The smart ones hired lawyers.

You can't blame her for that. Who doesn't wish they were Indian? Long shirts, Butter Chicken, pakora, samosas, na'an, those super hot Bollywood chicks... The list goes on.

Excuse my poor gamer and spelling but...

Am I understanding correctly, there is a specific law against ripping off dummies that are willing to pay $1,300 for a small fake totem pole and necklace?

What if they had the brains to write a little contract that obviously people in the market for exorbitantly over priced counterfeit "treasure" would quickly sign without reading?

Something along the lines of.
Paid in full.
Items delivered and accepted in satisfactory condition.
All sales final. No exchanges or refunds.
This art hand crafted by a whitey like Rachel Dolezal that enjoys playing dress up..

Unlikely since they were too stupid to pay actual native people next to nothing to carve those things for them.

Just for fun since as usual iPad couldn't help, I searched a word, then fixed it's spelling. Turns out I have been mispronouncing exorbitant wrong all my life and no one has ever stopped to correct me. No wonder, nobody understands me. I can barely speak English.

You have that about right but if you really want to go down this rabbit hole you have to watch this movie about Norval Morrisseau especially since you are on that side of the border. It's called 'there are no fakes', below is a link that may only work in Canada or with VPN in canada

That looks pretty interesting.

Hey, I liked Mr Depp as Tonto. I'm also old enough to have enjoyed Jay Silverheels help create and make the character great on TV in black and white.

In my opinion, those two guys in Seattle would still be scumbags if they bought those things for cheap carved by actual First Nations people, then resold them for $1,300. But at least they would be honest scumbags.

Well I don't. There are a small number of individual Native Americans, however, Indians as a people have been extinct for 100 years. But there's too much money caught up in fishing, timber, mineral, and gaming rights to acknowledge they don't exist so we have 500 museum tribes led by MBAs who are 75% lily white with paler skin that bigtoughralf who are playing out a fantasy reinforced by the collective imagination of hundreds of millions of Americans who have seen Dances With Wolves too many times.

And that is a funny article. In Washington and Oregon there are a few different tribes who sell totem poles and put totem poles outside their longhouses ... which is an "ancient" tradition that dates back to the 1900s. Totem poles are a Tlingkit thing that never went that far south until it became a sought-after item in gift shops. Now it's a sacred talisman of the spirit of coyote or some concocted gibberish.
