One key stat to watch is # with COVID hospitalized:

1) those hospitalized with COVID;
2) those in ICU (Intensive Care Unit) with COVID;
3) those with COVID.
Between those vaccinated and those who have had COVID, we are near "herd immunity." This despite the recalcitrance and non-cooperation and selfishness of those who refused to protect OTHERS by their refusal to get the vaccine. We are almost "out of the woods" and getting to a safe place. At least that is my hope and not necessarily my prediction. The virus has mutated to become more widespread and less virulent. BUT the story has not reached its end and the virus may mutate again into a very virulent and even deadlier variant, so we cannot ignore or downplay the problem, like vaxitoxin has the proclivity to do. And, unlike vaxitoxin's Fake News, the Sky did NOT Fall.

The fake news that vaxi reads is also read by others who RISK death, hospitalization, severe illness, and other unknow long-term effects. Those risk far outweigh the small risks associated with the vaccines for COVID. And some unvaccinated choose to remain ignorant and follow their instincts or the North Star or declarations of their tribal elders or whatever causes them to ignore the Science.
I am still disappointed that early on (March 2020), we were mislead by those in charge [who may have decided not to share the likely very bad news (borne out)] that we "only" needed 15 days to "Flatten the curve" of those impacting the medical resources. I do not recall the exact nature of how the message went from 15 days to the next phase. I do recall that then President Trump gave us hope in or before December 2020 of the vaccines when he began his operation "Warp Speed" (a term from the show Star Trek, btw). It has been a long road and a struggle.
Just a President Biden is blamed for the inflation and bad economy NOW, President Trump got the blame for how badly the battle against COVID went and he was blamed for the extent of the damage and problems created by COVID. That, in my mind, is the MAIN reason he lost the election in 2020. And for those who claim FRAUD, I am still waiting for the evidence since early November in 2020. The hope in the vaccine was not enough to overcome the pain, misery, deaths, and bad news of COVID and President Trump got blamed and lost the election.
