You might call Walt Kelly’s classic comic strip Pogo a combination of high and low art.

I never denied fentanyl; I had family members die of an overdose. I am not blind; I suggest that you be careful whom you call a fool. Did I mention Cocaine? Only in this context, that you failed to fully comprehend.

This is true of cocaine, alcohol, and other such things BEFORE the Chinese got involved.

Fentanyl is the Drug, the poison that you allude to with the Chinese in concert with Mexican Drug Cartels. NOTE that YOU FAILED to even mention the NAME of the drug. Do you know? I have some doubts, ConfedSs. I will also tell you that I know well someone in Law Enforcement and know about overdose and Fentanyl and related issues. As I already said, I am NO FOOL. Did I mention or 8 balls? NO. I am speaking of ALL the illegal drugs, including the ones causing major overdose cases now and DEATH, especially fentanyl. You missed my MAJOR point, ConfedSS. Please read; and please stop the hyperbole and stop the hysterics.

Fentanyl is used to "cut" or dilute other drugs, including heroine. But fentanyl is the illegal drug that is NOW causing MANY deaths and ALL kinds of problems. And there are other related, chemically similar drugs. I can probably make some myself with the proper equipment and chemicals, since I am a Chemist and know the Chemistry of Drugs, illegal and not. I even took a Course called Drug Chemistry. Did you? I am NOT the FOOL on this or many topics.

Whether you buy your drugs from Mexico, China, India, or the Principality of Grand Fenwick, don't blame the supplier. He's just doing what comes naturally and meeting the demand.

There is some scary ignorance in this thread but I often see that.

The flow of fentanyl into the United States in now more diverse compared to the start of the fentanyl crisis in 2014, with new source countries and new transit countries emerging as significant trafficking nodes. This is exacerbating the already multi-faceted fentanyl crisis by introducing additional source countries into the global supply chain of fentanyl, fentanyl-related substances, and fentanyl precursors. Further, this complicates law enforcement operations and policy efforts to stem the flow of fentanyl into the United States. While Mexico and China are the primary source countries for fentanyl and fentanyl-related substances trafficked directly into the United States, India is emerging as a source for finished fentanyl powder and fentanyl precursor chemicals.
More than 90 percent of the 10,000 pounds of fentanyl seized in fiscal 2021 occurred at legal border entry points in California and Arizona. BTW - only 10,000 pounds.
The synthetic opioid is relatively cheap to manufacture, with Mexican labs operating around the clock and using precursor chemicals imported from China, according to the Drug Enforcement Administration. Fentanyl has been a major factor in the rise of overdose deaths in the US over the last few years. In 2021, there were nearly 108,000 overdose deaths in the US, according to statistics compiled by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The fentanyl is highly valuable, over $10,000 a pound as it comes over the border, very roughly.

I got fentanyl when I had my colonoscopy. It was a really cool drug. I was serenading the nurses down the hall. I can see how easy it would be to get addicted.

It’s not gonna solve the drug problem… but my suggestion does;
- save the USPS $.
- make distribution in the USA more competitive against China in the sale of some (mostly cheap/low cost) products.
- reduce carbon emissions as shipments would aggregate and shop shorter distances.

All due to normal market pressures and, and reduction of gov’t subsidies.
