Emo & post-hardcore are essentially the same thing…… In fact Ian MacKaye’s band Fugazi is arguably the first post-hardcore band and Ian is the one responsible for coining the term “emo”.

He's basically saying you're right. You could have thrown Staind and Seether up there too and get the same result.

Or you could have just picked some real music that doesnt require a razor blade.

I thought emo was shit like Oasis. Would never imagine it having anything to do with hardcore, post or otherwise.

not 100% sure if this qualifies as "emo" or not, I think I've heard it referred to as "shoe gaze" or some shit like that. close enough for me...*shrugs*
