If this guy wants he likely could hide out in Maine for a LONG time.
If he has training and basic supplies it may be easy.

Given he’s ex-military he likely has training and knowledge… and if he’s from Maine (which it appears he is) he would likely have at least some appropriate weather/camping gear. He could go out into the woods somewhere and be there for years. Even in the area of “the second most populated town” in Maine. You only have to drive 5 minutes out of town to hit woods and be in no-man’s land.

Lewiston is home to Bate’s College, a fairly exclusive small liberal arts college. Lotta rich parents are shitting themselves this morning.

Lewiston police said in an earlier Facebook post they were dealing with an active shooter at both Schemengees Bar and Grille and Sparetime Recreation, a bowling alley about 6.4 kilometres away.

It was but a few days ago on GC, that I was chatting about Carolinifornia with some of the locals there, and now I reckon I've just encountered an example of Mainesissippi or thereabouts.

If he owns seven properties, he should have purchased one or two through a New Mexico-registered LLC, using a sole practitioner attorney to facilitate the transaction, then killed the attorney.

Starting next year you can't do that because the feds now have to have a record of all anonymous LLCs.

I am. It's Title LXIV of the Anti-Money Laundering Act of 2020 and goes into effect on January 1. You now have to identify the owners of an LLC to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Division of the Treasury department. This essentially removes the ability of average Americans to move assets through anonymous routes. Now you'd have to go offshore which means only billionaires can do it.

It's all for-profit businesses, not just LLCs. And only owners with 25% share or more. You own 24%, you're exempt.

Also companies with over 20 employees and in excess of 5 million in sales are exempt.

How did a man with mental problems get (or get to keep) his weapons?

I heard an expert say that one way to prevent more mass killings is to avoid giving these persons ANY attention; do not identify them. This will deny many of them the attention that many of them seek and crave via the media. They thus cannot go out in “a blaze of glory.”
