His party has only 35 seats in Parliament. No major changes in policy.

Beating all predictions, the exit poll put Wilders’ Freedom Party (PVV) at 35 out of 150 seats, 10 seats ahead of the closest rival, former EU Commissioner Frans Timmermans’ Labour/Green Left combination. That margin was far greater than expected and appeared to be too great for the outcome to change.

He has a possible government coalition, but the other two parties want him to abandon some of his ideas.

If current results hold, Geert could form a coalition:

Party for Freedom (Geert): 36 seats
People's Party: 24 seats
New Social Contract: 20 seats
Forum for Democracy: 4 seats

That'd give him 84 seats, with 75 seats needed for the majority. More than 70% of the seats in the coalition would be from anti-EU parties. I warrant they'll agree to give Geert a referendum on EU exit since it's a low-risk proposition, as well as stricter immigration controls. In exchange, Geert will have to abandon the anti-Islamic proposals and accept a PM from one of the minor coalition partners.

Its not quite 3/4 the size of West Virginia... but it's population is about 9/10 that of New York (state).

Update: Geert got 37 seats, the most of any party in 20 years!

Geert is now saying he will insist on the King appointing him Prime Minister, deep-sixing saxi's prediction that a member of a coalition partner would get the nod.
