THE RAT RACE LEAGUE

Hey there all!

I am posting this VERY early because I hope to get a large single player league going.

NO LANDGRAB PLAYERS ALLOWED IF PART OF OTHER RRL!!

Looking for as many players as possible to complete and see how they stack up against the opposition from season to season. Obviously saying that this will be an ongoing League. Something of a similar format to UK Football divisions with relegation and promotion battles.

Anyway I know if any of you are slightly interested you will want more information. Please be patient and I will edit this post as and when is possible as there is still a lot I need to get to grips with here.

League Structure in brief!

4 Divisions of 8 players.

The Initial Set up of this league will have ALL players intermingling in games by random draws. Position finish in the games will award points to players.
Once these games are complete then everyone will be divided into the 4 divisions depending on how well they scored in the Initial Ranking phase of the league.

To start of there will be ONLY 4 games. The idea is to get as broad a range of settings as possible thats why I havnt listed them yet because I havnt had time to figure out the balance so its as fair a contest as possible.

As you may have guessed I run RRL on LG and this will be close to that format.

Points as follows:
1- 20pts
2- 15pts
3- 10pts
4- 7pts
5- 5pts
6- 3pts
7- 2pts
8- 1pt

Missed turns -1pt.

The aim is to climb up the league as high as possible once it is set up. This first phase as mention will just be the initial ranking which will divid you all into each of the 4 divisions depending on how you do. Once the divisions are in place then the first season will begin and I will open up an entry competition to join the league. 4 players will leave the league each season from the bottom division and 4 players will replace them who win the Entry Competition.
The overall aim is to get into division 1 and win it to become King Rat!! Then defend your crown in the coming season/s.

If you're looking for a quick tourney this isnt the one for you. If you are a constant presence on CC then this is CERTAINLY for you! :mrgreen:

I Apologise I still have not had the chance to look at maps. Open to suggestions??

Also should add in the first season the map choices will be voted on (Within reason). The league is going to be played by the players and run by the players to some degree. This is meant to be a way to see how good you REALLY are!

Also will probably be annual competition between LG RRL and CC RRL if players want to compete (Only the top players will be invited from both sites if they wish to humour me! Entirely optional and not here to ruffle feathers I can see some people here are quite sensitive to outsiders. I'm just a guy who loves making and running tourneys and I have a lot of fun doing so and in no way am I going to apologise for that!

You'll need to post more information on this. What is the setup? Will it be 1v1, teams? Will you have a playoff system, or will it be round-robin, with scoring determining the winner? Will people get to choose their own settings for individual games? Will players get to choose their own maps?

Once you add more information, we'll see about adding your tourney to the database.

Aware of the situation as stated above.

I just need to get used to the site first and check out the settings/maps etc. then get an account.
Will probably give out a little more information over the next few days but I'll PM you when all the details are in place around mid jan or later.
I've put this thread up now to get the numbers I need earlier.

You only have 1 month to fill a tournament, so you better post it when you have it all figured out.

Also, a league without one clear winner at the end does not count as a tournament.

Tournaments are to be no longer than 1 year....

All of the above is the reason why I told you to read the Tournament Handbook and start with something small and simple.

The only thing I need to figure out is what maps to use and what settings ... but to be honest I will probably just ask everyone to vote for maps.

Seriously only ONE month?
Thats a bit crazy especially if I am online regulary and obviously not abandoning the tourney whats the problem?

I hardly expect this to fill in one month being unknown here but I'll give it a go.

When creating a tournament here at Conquer Club, you need to explain the setup in detail. This is now a league, you'll play games, and award points. How many points? Do all players score points, or only the top finishers? What kind of games are they? Terminator, standard? 8 player, 4 player, 1v1? Escalating spoils, flat rate, no spoils? Fog of war, or sunny? How many rounds will you play? Will all rounds be the same? When are players eliminated? Will there be a playoff, or will the tourney end after so many rounds, with a winner based on points?

You've got to answer all these questions. And, you're only allowed to keep these threads open for a month. So if you want any chance of getting this filled, you've got to provide some more information.

This will be an ongoing league. If it does not fill after a month I have have to start up another thread the same again and put everyones names down again? BIZARRE!! Makes zero difference to me but just a waste of time deleting something I'm just going to put back up.

Will list full info later. Not had time lately (RL :roll:

You can't just put everyone's names down again - they have to sign up again. But in this case, it hardly matters, because there's nothing to sign up for! Next time you want to run a tournament here, think it out IN FULL, BEFORE you post it. So far, we don't even have a tournament here.

Bottom line, once you get an actual tourney listed here, you have 1 month to fill it. That's how it works at Conquer Club.

TYPE : MIXED GAMES (x1 Standard - Including Nukes, x1 Freestyle and x2 esculating) - Will vary constantly season to season but x2 esculating will be the core for first season.
Future seasons will also include "special" maps by choice of League Champion.

MAPS: Once we have enough players map choices will be voted on.

MINIMUM OF 32 PLAYERS COMPETING FOR PLACE IN 32 PLAYER ONGOING LEAGUE.

As mentioned in post Season to Season the league will vary as maps are voted for AND the winners of divisions choose a map for next season when they get promoted to the next division.

NOTE : ANYONE who has signed up I will record your names and PM you if this doesnt fill before a Month which is HIGHLY likely. Then you can just post again and we can wairt for this to fill. Would get there and stoke up some interest in this but dont have time at the moment.

If you think That having an ongoing League is not a tournament and that saying 4 divisons of 8 players with promotion and relegation isnt isnt enough I hope this info above will suffice? If so I'll post to top of the thread.

I ramble a lot sometimes and its not always as clear as I would like so maybe I could do with a hand the way I phrase things. I'm well aware as MANY are that getting my point across sometimes doesnt always succeed! :lol:

Current CC Tournament Policies do not allow for this type of roll-over league that you are proposing. All tournaments must have a clear ending, with a clear winner, and each new tournament (or season) must begin in a new thread, and only 50% of the spots are allowed to be reserved.

Because your tournament structure does not meet CC standards, it will not be allowed to run, and this thread will be locked. Feel free to respond via pm.
