I tried playing soccer for a while...played it in my park district for six years. Maybe I was playing it wrong, but half the time on defense I was just staring into space. Probably more fun to watch it, but whatever. I find it hard to believe that people can consistently watch baseball over here.

As to the person who asked why it's called football, the game originally had almost no passing. Other than a few tosses, the only things available play-wise were running, punting, or kicking a field goal. So unless we wanted to call it runball, tossball, or something else equally lame-sounding football would have to do. Besides, when they first made it they probably never thought it would be as popular as rugby, it was only a few changes to the rules. Major ones, sure, but changes all the same.

By calling soccer fans unintelligent, I in no way implied NFL fans to be intelligent, or otherwise, I simply said soccer fans are stupid, or worse, stupid would seem to be a compliment. It's a boring pointless game due to low scoring, and no action. Watching men kick a ball to eachother, and once or twice a game actually scoring, is boring.

So now they score once or twice a game, rather than once every 4 games. Wow.

Whoever talked about the excitement of watching a soccer game where a goal will win the game with less than a minute remaining is a dreaming fool. 99.9% of the time such a game ends in a tie. I've played and watched soccer, and I don't get it.
