Some sad news and some happy news for Team CC in the past week.
Let me start out with the sad news.
As some of you may already know or have noticed, Moz976, our dedicated tech support guru and good friend is stepping down to focus on something called real life.
Moz has been with Team CC since the very very early days. Over the 18 months he was with the team (he's been a team member almost 3/4 of the time CC has been around!) he has been a Global Mod, Tech Support, trusted adviser, friend and all around good guy. He has solved many a problem for those who can't get their games to work and many an argument for those who felt the need to try and prove the size of their pwnage. He always had a level head and a great attitude. His shoes will be hard to fill indeed.
Moz, take care mate, see you on the battle field, if not in the staff room any more.
Now, for much happier news. Let me introduce Janiv and Night Strike.
Unconfirmed reports have told us that in his day job Janiv is
a warrior of mythic proportions, whose deeds are known around the world as he sweeps through nations defending the weak, and defeating the unjust and immoral. His legend flies far and wide as he fights for the justice that all search for over entire lifetimes.
In his spare time, however, he has become CC's 3rd staff hire and is now our official CC User Interface Guru.
Expect to seem him beetling away at front end tweaks which have been a long time in the making. We expect to see him solving such challenges as that ugly pagination problem (do a search, you'll see), the game page space thing (what ever would we do with some extra space on the game page?), making map selection a slightly less daunting scroll experience and many other small projects which you guys come up with in the suggestions and bug reports forum.
Janiv will be mostly locked away in the back room with Lack, but occasionally we hope to bring him out to get some CC sunshine.
Secondly, but definitely no less important is Night Strike.
Night Strike has joined Team CC as its 3rd volunteer Tournament Director, joining Steelhorse and Optimus Prime in their tireless and often far too thankless job of handling the ever growing activity and complexity that is CC Tournaments.
Night Strike has a pile of experience with tournaments both as a player and organizer and has always been helpful to others looking to get involved. You can almost always find him hanging around the tournament forum or the game creation screen.
With the extra personpower in the Tournaments forum, we hope to see response times drop and some very cool things come out of there.
Welcome to the team guys, Moz, thank you for your commitment and dedication.
And as always, thank you everyone else for being here and giving us a reason to make Team CC bigger. Without you and your feedback CC wouldn't be the addictive time sink that we have all come to know and love.
Have a good one
