Ignore list is going too far.

Postby Ramned on Mon Apr 07, 2008 4:26 pm

This is ridiculous. The ignore list is being used inappropriately. I am now being ignored by a player...who I will not name. I have played a friendly game with him and no problems occured. He ignored me for the reason of ... unwillingness to lose! wtf?

Definitly disagree with this policy. Being ignored on accounts of being, well, a good player is the dumbest thing I've had happen to me on this site, and there have been alot of dumb things.

You want people to have to petition to add someone to their ignore list then?

Let me put this in some perspective for you.
This situation could parallel Tom Brady refusing to play against a team, I.E. the Dolphins, just because they have a great linebacker, Taylor, who might beat his game up!

Isn't CC's ignore list meant to ignore players who piss you off or do crap to you?

IT's the principle of the thing

well, i guess u are talking too far i guess whats the point for insisting in playing with someone who does not want you to play with huh?

the only reason i could think of is mult accounts...though..

does it cost u be ignored by someone? i guess not
does it cost u to ignore someother player? i guess not..

i think its a good idea actually to have that function actually..

What is Ramned saying? I'd read his posts but all I can see is "This post was made by Ramned who is currently on your ignore list"...

game number... people ALWAYS leave out a game number when there is something
in the chat that counters their whining thread... game number... that is all i have to
say. if you are so innocent and so persecuted, please let us all join you in your dismay
after we peruse the facts. not taking your word for it, so give me a game number. oh,
and one more thing, GAME NUMBER?!-0

i'm pretty sure i'm on a whole lot of ignore lists.

but since i haven't been given any reasons for it, i have convinced myself that it is because i am the "much too sexy", and the other dudes are jealous of it, and the women are intimidated by it.

because, after all, it couldn't possibly be because of anything I'VE done.
have you ever seen an idealist with grey hairs on his head?
or successful men who keep in touch with unsuccessful friends?
you only think you did
i could have sworn i saw it too
but as it turns out it was just a clever ad for cigarettes.

Are there ramifications for being on someone's ignore list?

What does it matter if you are on someone's ignore list or not?

The only one that really matters is that you are excluded from joining a game that they're in. Honestly, I don't think that's enough reason in and of itself to get bent about it. However, assuming the OP is correct and the player is just trying to avoid him because he's "too good" then that's sort of lame.

Seriously...you go to join a game and can be denied access to the game because someone already in that game has you on ignore?

I would think it would just block out text from that person here and in game chat.

And...yea...it's pretty lame to ignore someone because they are better than you. But...I would think it should be fine to be able to ignore anyone for any reason. There is no accounting for taste or thin skin...as it were...

The same thing has happened with Comic, Rooster and myself when we wanted to join triples against certain individuals. Tis sad.

i tried to join a private 8 player game when a new map came out.. a certain person did not like my "attitude" in the forums, etc... so i was on his ignore. never played him, never knew he existed, never even dissed him in the forums... had to beg to get in the game, and the jackass acted like he was doing me a favor. you should not be able to put someone on ignore, unless you have played a game against them...-0

Or that facet of ignore should be re-vamped.

I could see wanting to ignore someone in the forums even if you've never played against them (with the exception that I think the need to use ignore is somewhat weak). But having that effect a user's ability to join games?

That seems a little off.

i have been put on people's ignore list because i have stated in the forums i will give a neg to anyone who destroys a FoW game by declaring the size of armies positioned around the map.

oh well, it is their loss. they could have kicked my arse in sunny games for the easy points.

How do you find out on whose list you are anyway?

Two things.... Taylor is a defensive lineman. And he sucked last season.

But I agree, it's kind of annoying that people do that. That being said, it's their ignore list and they have a right to put whomever they want on it... I don't see a fair way of changing it.

I think it's more impressive that he gets to shag this just for playing CC....
