i think the poll is very wrong for the simple fact you can't split maps in those 3 categs (real places, fictional, abstract).
for example why do people like classic?? just because it represents the world?? surely not. they like it because of the classic gameplay. remove the bonuses add a resource type gameplay and you'll see many people will hate it despite being a real place.
or let's take a look at waterloo. it is a real place and yet so many hate it. why? well because of the hard to understand gameplay.
