BaldAdonis wrote:You guys know you can respond to negative feedback.... so if you get something like "suicides into players" and you don't think you did, you can put your response right next to it. Unless you have a disproportionate number of negatives, most people who pay attention to it are going to read what they are, and probably look at the game. So if you weren't playing terribly, then they'd find out. If you were, they should know. Same if your connection goes down.
Negative feedback doesn't obstruct you from doing anything, unless you get a lot and people block you for that, and I hardly think that's a legitimate problem. Take the feedback system for what it is: a means for players to tell others about how you play. If you don't like what they say, maybe you should be doing something different (like not playing assholes who leave negatives for everyone).

Thats the problem though. There's some low ranks out there who know they can't beat the higher ranked players in a game, so the only edge they have is the ability to give a negative feedback for just about anything, and some of them take full advantage of this fact. People wonder why high ranked players don't play as many public games, and its things like this that are the cause. Deadbeating a speed game should never be a valid reason for a negative feedback... we're talking about prolonging the game by a maximum of 15 minutes, closer to 5 minutes if you include the factor of how long people normally take to make a turn.

What I'm saying is it's not important to have a flawless record. Whenever anyone looks at your feedback, they will see that the negative was from some wanker who just leaves negs for everyone, and they won't consider it against you. Plus, you've got a response which justifies your actions. That's the sort of meta-feedback that tells you more about the person leaving it than the actual player it's meant for. So in that sense, it's useful to other players who will know to avoid the Void.
The feedback system isn't some valuation of worth, it's a notepad for people to describe their experience so that others can find out what you're like before they play. If the person recklessly gives out negatives like Void does, then they're not worth much. I got a silly negative, but he was giving them out like candy on Halloween, so I reckon no one cares.
And why not? When he leaves stupid feedback, other people find out what it's like to play him and can avoid him without having to experience it. It's like taking freedom of speech away from pro-life people: sure, you wouldn't have to see pictures of miscarried fetuses once a year when you drive down the street, but you also wouldn't know that those people were really stupid, and you might end up getting stuck somewhere with them, like at a job. Whereas if you HAD seen your potential boss holding up a sign that said "RU486 is murder," you'd know to decline the job right away.Bruceswar wrote:Silly or not people like him should not be allowed to leave feedback at all.
