Players and moves?

Postby Bruceswar on Tue Apr 29, 2008 3:10 pm

Sooo in speed games or, casual games for that matter, a players moves can effect your game. Good or bad they can effect you both ways. When a player makes a terrible move and you tell them they did. This is grounds for a negative if they so choose. I have seen players tell me "I play for fun and do not take it serious." While that is all great, and it is what most of us do does not mean you should point out bad moves? Oh you become the bad guy for "whining" or "abusive in chat" if you get mad when a player suicides into you or makes a bad play. I am sorry, but I am going to tell a player if they have made a bad move or not. Speed or casual games, makes no difference. I thought all players played to win? Maybe I am wrong and some just do not give a rats ass if they win or lose. Anyhow debate away and flame me if you must.

End of Rant.

I play a LOT of esc, seq, speed games. often there are players who make really bad plays. I (or someone else in the game) will usually point them out. The difference between someone who makes my foe list and someone who I look forward to playing again, is in their reaction to being told they made a bad move. Someone who says "f*ck You! you think you're better than me? don't tell me what to do." doesn't play in any of my games ever again. Someone who says "really? what did I do wrong?" will get an explanation and hopefully becomes a better player because of it.

For the most part, bad moves don't bather me NEARLY as much as bad reactions to being told about a bad play does.

LMAO Most of the time I tell them they made a bad move and thus they respond back with "I am playing my game, you play yours." At that point there is not much to say.

I'm not sure about everyone else, but I just tell it like it is. If I think they made a poor move, I let them know. I'm not a jerk about it, but I tell them what I think. It can be frustrating, but... water off a ducks back, right?

one remark in one of YOUR FIVE threads on the first page of the GD Forum! i believe it is you who has hijacked the GD!!! however, to get back on topic, so this runaway freight train of witty dialogue and banter does not become derailed, let me comment on the topic. i just don't make comments about other players moves in games. the most i say is, "blue, that move really confused me." i don't ever say, "you suck, that move is dumb, way to give away the game." when you comment on peoples play, they become offended and they give you a neg... right? there, are you happy? i got back on topic!!!-0

p.s.-bruce, now get back to work and find me the fuzz face i want!
