How do I quit a game?

Postby a_ron_hubbard on Tue May 06, 2008 2:00 am

I'm a new player and i started a sequential game without fully understanding it. There is no way I'm going to be able to pay attention. Is there any way i can quit it? Or is that a complete no-no. HELP

Once you're in, you're in... there's no quitting in CC. Miss three consecutive turns and you become a deadbeat and are kicked out of the game, but deadbeating is a lame thing to do. I'm guessing the game that's got you bummed is the W 2.1 fogged game? Why can't you pay attention to the game and finish?

Eight player games tend to take longer than most others unless it's a speed game or a small map or escalating sets. I see you've joined another eight player, but it's the Iberia Map and should move along quicker. Join smaller games (less players) if you want them to move along quicker.

It's the sequential that's the problem. I don't mind 8 players cause they all have to finish in a day. I can pay attention to it. I just don't have any interest in it. I'll revisit the game when it comes up again next week. Thanks

If you play freestyle, beware. You will have to be logged in almost continuously, watch the clock, be ready to take your turn the moment an other player has started his in order to secure your bonus. Freestyle has become hell on acid since I joined this site over 2 years ago, back then things were a lot friendlier. Freestyle has broken many new players who thought they had their opponent bagged until they logged in to see they had been eliminated themselves.
If you're going to play that way, join one of the mentor programs, I think there's one for freestyle game.

Check it next week? My eight player sequencial games usually move at a every day... and most go a few times once they get rolling. That third round game of yours has four recruits in it (including you) and that is something that can occassionally bog a game down early on.
