How is it that a poll can show far more votes than people who have visited the thread?

Some polls allow more than 1 vote... it's a new forum thing.

i think this is regarding the thread in the chetter box by DaGip entitled: "What's your favourite veg.?"
there were 96 views and 180-odd votes
like 180 voted and 176 were for "steven hawking"!
ill get the thread link...hold on
