i love when the forum leaks into GD... anxiously awaiting a visit from the monkey... and to be honest, i don't particularly care for any of the new maps. new world had the most potential for my falling in love with it... however, the pointed game play and creators heavy handed direction of game strategy is just overwhelming and kind of kills the map. it's a shame, it was really cool last time i saw it in the forum. not complaining, i'm sure someone out there will love it and the rest of the maps...-0

p.s.-love the thread on "sanctuary" that cropped up. you are awesome to work with everyone on their suggestions DiM!!! that is why you are still the man!!

p.p.s.-didn't anyone think to place the cities somewhat close to where they really are geographically in the texas map? i can't even look at that map, it is just a mess... and yes, i did make suggestions in the thread while it was being created.

I have absolutely no idea what's going on in Battle for Iraq.

I voted Texan Wars, I want to see more maps with no special features. There were only 2... Texan Wars and WWII Ardennes. Rail Europe is suggestible.

you should give Arms Race a shot. Once you get it, it has a huge fun potential. It's not hard to get either.

Tough call between arms race and iraq (I suspect I will be playing few other maps over the next few months), but laying radioactive waste to your opponent gets a slight edge over harnessing sectarian violence to do the same. :D

Exactly, CC isnt RISK ;)
without maps on CC, it would be more boring. Maps are still the structure of CC.

Sorry owen, he must have forgotten that the soul of CC is maps.

pssst, get a grip, i was making fun of andy, because the last few threads that gimil has put up, he has moved back to the foundry. stick around, maybe you'll figure out what is going on.-0

p.s.-the guys that have no sense of humor and stumble into jokes and make themselves look silly, make the GD go round!!!

p.p.s.-i'm sure i'll get around to trying most of them, just not texas!

i've only played new world twice and arms race once...

from what i got, arms race was fun as hell, especially cuz i got to beat mibi on his own map, i really like the gameplay style of picking up lots of small and valuable bonuses, then finally getting the megarocket bonus

in new world, i liked the big numbers of armies i was readily deployed with, and i really enjoyed the whole conquest then attack thing that you get to do with the map

not sure which i prefer though....

I've played New world twice, won both times, playing it again, not sure how its gonna turn out. love it though!!!!
Played AoR 3 four times, won twice, playing 2 more games of it, one i'm pretty sure i'll win, and one is just started. i really like this one too!
Played Arms race twice, lost both, in the progress of another one and am feeling good about it so far... i like this one too, but haven't gotten any points from it yet
Played Das Schloss once, lost. not too fond of it yet (no, its not just because i lost), but i'll give it another try soon.
Haven't played the other ones yet, but i'm thinking of doing texan wars.
overall, great maps!!! this is a really good batch of new ones we got this time :D :D :D :D :D :D
