I missed the memo about the 3 rating being representative of average and have yet to award anything less than a 5. Guess that means I've played nothing but over achievers so far on the new feedback syetem. My old 67-0 feedback has been reduced to n/a and I've yet to encounter zimmer in a game... so it is likely that my distribution of 5's will continue.

The only thing I do not get is why does there have to be a meemo if you move the arrow over the stars when distributing a rating it tells you what that star level rating is. I get that you people want to give 5 because all your opponents are excellent and that is cool as this is oppinion based but do not get mad if you get a 3 from some one who is not all happy happy joy joy for every player they meet and has taken the time to see, read and correctly apply the little popup that occurs when you move your cursor over the stars...

some people get all 1s just for winning a game.

I look at the ratings of people with less than 4 (some from my games and some via forums) and have seen this at least three or four times.

it's happened in a few 1v1 games with no chat.

why aren't you on a cause against these people zimmah? this is real abuse. even if you think all fives is abuse, you have to admit that this is worse than all fives. yet you're not making a big deal out of it.

There was no "popup" to define what was what when I left my ratings... and most of my games are on the long end of the timeline, so it may be awhile before I leave any more or have my n/a adjusted.

and there will always be players who give you 1's just for eliminating them from the game

oh my goodness, we are so alike, it is creepy!! however, if it is a small meal, and i have received great attention, i'll go as high as 30%... if it's something like mexican, and you only drop 20 bucks, and my kid
was given some nice attention and the waiter/waitress were kind and actually gave him time to express
himself, drop 'em 10 bucks... thanks wac-ky!! nice to see some sense coming to this thread!-0

Well this is something i can agree with... a very american thing to do perhaps, and i think it's why the food service is generally better in the states... as a general overall statement of course, plenty of exceptions naturally...

oh boy, hope i didn't start something here with that... no wait... that would be a good thing... to divert attention from the topic at hand ;)

food service better in the states. thats a very general statement. Im quite sure that you have to tip in America!?! correct me if im wrong. If i get good service and shit food, im not giving anyone 1 cent!! most i have tipped is LM10, which i think is roughly $30

anyways, good thread, new system is crap and not worth abit of my time.

a "meemo"? sigh... well, i left only positive feedback or no feedback at all for players, and i have a perfect feedback record. for me, anyone that i enjoy a game with is a 5. for me, anyone i don't particularly think played well, won't receive a rating. and guess what? the people that i enjoy, i'm going to post on their walls, just like i used to leave feedback. of course, people that deadbeat out or are abusive in chat or whatever are going to receive 2's... but come on, what is average? who are you to decide? if a person shows up and puts up a good fight and says so much as "gl" or "good luck, dudes", i'm dropping them a five. nail me to your proverbial cross, because it is how i choose to leave ratings, just like i chose to leave feedbacks. i am a fun player to get into a match with, andi respect anyone that takes the time to put forth an effort. you are all taking this way too seriously. if you want to know how good someone is, check their rank and win percentage...-0

I basically agree about the positive part. If you want to give all 5's.. fine.

BUT, what I really want to know, and could in the old sytem, but cannot now, is whether the person I am playing is going to be insulting, deabeat when they lose (not because of problems getting to a computer), try to tell everyone how to play and throw tantrums when they don't ... etc. I also like to know if someone has their "own rules" like they get mad if you don't play a 1v1 "real time" or dislike certain strategies ... etc.

a mere slip of the keyboard... let me correct myself, anyone that i don't particularly enjoy playing against, won't receive a rating. zzzzzzzz.... boy, you got me, hulmey!!! and yes, i am going to miss the neg feedbacks that helped me find out whom to avoid. even worse, when the feedbacks are moved to our walls, the people with negs will be able to delete them, right? am i understanding that correctly? anyway, 5's for everyone i enjoy playing with, just like positive feedbacks for everyone i enjoyed playing with!-0

Pretty much - it's obvious a lot of CC players are going to want to stick with teh 5 system, which although is not consistent with nearly every other rating system in friggin' existence, it most likely won't be changed.

All I ask is not to be disappointed when I leave you guys 2's and 3's and it hurts your prestigious rating, I've come to accept that the rating system will be flawed as much as people insist that everyone should have their own interpretation - which I highly disagree with. Common sense and 99% of the other systems out there say otherwise. I just know when I give someone a 4 in a rating, and it's meant to be a compliment to the player, he/she will probably get annoyed.
