well you were acting like a dumbfucker, an arrogant fucker at the least starting a thread and then saying how you didn't care about any of our opinions. i think it's pretty evident to most of us here you're talking to just hear yourself speak, and you so conveniently seem to ignore the opinions of happy2seeu, timminz, and myself, people who all have the experience you criticize irone.gle of not having... no retort for us?

they only opinon ive ignored is, timminz and urs....But im more than happy to always look to H2SY for advice and another view point on things, shes a star

If posible, were i post, i wish you wouldnt. But alas the world isnt perfect

there you go, that's the sort of ignorant attitude i'd expect from an individual like yourself. be wary when using q-tips, you're supposed to stop at the first sign of resistance.

Well said, just play it out take your win or loss and move on.

whats taking your win or loss got to do with anything. If you have left all your countries with 1's, everybody knows your a dead duck. It actually saves time coz sometimes games with luckey dice or licey cards just prolongs the pain!!

who in their right mind thinks that you can win with no bonus, cards and all countries with 1's. YOu guys havent convinved me one bit that the way im finsihing isnt correct!!

I actually started playing this way afer everyone done it to me after it was imp[ossible to win in maps like waterloo

It's just common courtesy to finish the game--

and hulmey, flaming kids out of FW is not a very nice thing to do.

Perhaps you shouldn't be so judgmental about my so called lack of experience. I may not have played 500 doubles games, but there certainly has been no shortage of assholes deadbeating in games that I have joined.

I don't very much care for deadbeating under any circumstance, but I can tolerate a deadbeat if they:

1) for some reason are without access to the internet
2) have a legitimate emergency
3) are brand new to the site and have no idea what they are doing.

Hulmey, since you haven't demonstrated any of these and admitted to intentional deadbeating, I think you deserve the criticism you're getting here. Someone with your experience on the site should be setting an example, but it seems you're setting the wrong one. It's a matter of courtesy and respect to your opponent to lose like a man, and accept defeat with dignity. I don't think that intentional deadbeating, even when announced, is dignified at all.

Deadbeating in speed games annoys the hell out of me. For one thing it'd be over quicker if you just took your turns, and secondly it means we have to sit here for a further 15+ minutes to wait for you to lose incase you decide to come back and we end up losing. It's just rude to deadbeat deliberately, if you sign up to a game, play your turns.

IronE.GLE wrote:A deadbeat is a deadbeat is a deadbeat. If you leave the game because you have no chance to win, you are still holding up the game for other players. Their first order of business is to follow through on their strategies, not eliminate a quitter to make it more convenient for you.

!!!!!!!!!

IF you must, suicide yourself, but either way .. you will negatively influence the game.

That is what seperates a good sport from a poor one -- thinking of the other people in the game as just as important as yourself.

PS (I do agree with seidshow's acceptable reasons above ... in fact I had to deadbeat for a while when we had to move out, kids and all, for 3 days due to a huge pumbing leak.. thankfully, everyone I played understood.).

I've had it happen to me loads of times and i dont mind (as long as they respectfully sucide)

I see the logical side of your argument. However, I have to agree with Happy and others. I recently was playing one of these 1v1, sequential speed games. I got in a bad spot about 3 rounds in. I was only getting my 3 armies, and could clearly see a 2 move sequence that my opponent should have taken to finish the game off. I even said "Well, gg." I was going to finish, but knew I was beat. Anyway, for some odd reason, he didn't take those 2 moves, and I ended up winning about 8 rounds later.

My point: I knew I didn't have a chance, but I was giving the opposition too much credit.

Best,
L
