Inbox settings question

If I set a rule to delete any PMs sent to me marking the start of a speed game, will I still see the notification of a new message, in the left-hand menu? I'd like to cut down on clutter in my inbox, but still like getting notified when a speed game starts.

I tested it. First I tried setting a rule to delete all messages from "admin", but I still got the PM. Then I set a rule to delete if the title ended with "is on!", and it worked. I didn't get the notification though, so I deleted the rule.
