Why would a player not have a profile?

During one of my games, I clicked on the user name of one of my opponents and got a message that said, "The requested user does not exist." Anyone else's user name brings you right to their profile. So I guess my question is, what in the world is going on here?

They lose the profile if they are banned.

At least they do if they're forum banned, I know that much. Banned from the game may be different however.

Interesting ... this fella's certainly not banned from the game (or he wouldn't be playing, obviously), and it's a tournament game, so I can only assume he can get to the tourney forum to sign up ...

he was prolly banned after the tournie sign up. Busted/Forum banned.

Ah, I see. Given the oh-so-pleasant banter we've been having during the game (I've seen much worse, but it's been a while), I'm beginning to wish it had happened before the tourney.

When you get banned you are still allowed to finish off all current games but you can't start/join new ones...

depends on the ban...

i mean, t-o-m got forum banned for a while for rick-rolling (you did get banned right?)

but i think you can still play games.
