question from a fairly new player

Postby falcon85 on Thu Jul 24, 2008 10:01 am

I ran into a situation today that I would like your comments on. I was in a speed game that I was definitely going to lose given the attacks that happened. On my turn, since I knew I should be eliminated in the next turn, I decided not to take a card as I knew it would only help one the opponent that eliminated me against the other two. Then, instead of eliminating me (which he or she could of done easily), I am left with two territories. They then get mad when I don't try to take a card the next turn. I did apologize for slowing down the game but I felt no need to just give an additional card one opponent - not because I was a sore loser but just because I felt no need to provide them additional assistance.

This person proceded to get mad, call me a sore loser, that he was putting me on his foe list and saying that I had a bad attitude.

Was I wrong and is what I did considered bad form here? Let me know as I am just trying to have fun playing a game I like.

Thanks

nope, nothing wrong with not taking a card. Its your option. Its your game to play as you see best. I too have not taken a card sometimes when I am weak because it only makes you more attractive to kill.

Your opponent is an idiot, and can you give us the game number?

yes that was the game. BY the way, I played against him in another game and there were no problems at all.

Screwing over the other player is an essential part of the game.

And of course, if you are too attractive to kill, and you get killed, you can always put them on foe...yes falcon, there are those on this site who, unfortunately, are spinless enough to put people on their foe list just because they have lost to them.

Just leave tickboxes for them with the all new ratings system...

Rude
Complainer
Bully
Vindictive
Sore Loser
Clueless

...any of these will do :D
