Why did the feedback system get replaced with ratings?

I am new to this site and have only been able to leave ratings, but looking through feedback of the people I play to find out more about what kind of player they are helps me a lot more than the ratings. To me it seems like it is a lot more descriptive and informative, I find out a lot more from the feedback section in a profile than the ratings section. Could someone tell me why they removed it? or is the rating thing only temporary seeing as both are in place right now?

A "consult of the community" done by lack found that the ratings system was needed to replace to old feedback system. There has been much uproar from some players about this issue...

It was taking too many man-hours to moderate the old feedback system. One mod was spending 20 hours per week moderating feedback disputes, instead of moderating the visible parts of the site.

not necessarily, there might be some other system in the future that may replace it...

So the ratings system is permanent?

They're looking for ways to improve it; it's still new and therefore flawed. But they can't bring back the old way, because it was too difficult for the mods.
