Add link to "My Profile" to "Personal Menu"

Postby cicero on Thu Jun 12, 2008 1:41 am

Concise description:
Add link to "My Profile" to "Personal Menu"

Specifics:
Add link to "My Profile" to "Personal Menu"

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
At present, unless I'm missing something, it is quite awkward to see your own profile ...
Typically I click "My Games" and then click on my name from there ... hmm doesn't sound too awkward now I've written it down ...
More frustrating though is when I don't have an active game. Then I click "Control Panel", "show my posts" and then click on my name from there ...

Neither is as simple as having a direct link on the Personal Menu though!

I agree. BUT, if you click on the Wall tab, you just have to scroll up to your profile. A 2 for 1 button. :D

In which case, consider my suggestion withdrawn. I'd missed that benefit.

Thanks Night Strike

Make it easier to view your own profile?

Postby philh on Thu Jul 31, 2008 11:48 am

Currently, I have to go to 'my games' and click my name there. If I have no active ones, I go via one of the other tabs. If I have none of them (having just returned from holiday), I search myself under 'scoreboard'. On the forum, I can also find my profile through 'view your posts', but that's not something I necessarily think to do.

Perhaps I'm neurotic, but viewing my profile is one of the most common things I do; could an easier way of doing so (say, on the sidebar) be added please?

Ya there should be just something on the left, like My Ratings.

Good call.

Perhaps top of the left menu next to logout or even a new tab at the top.

Yeah that's what I thought too ...

But see the thread I've just merged this with and the response given there... it would seem to be a reasonable solution to the problem ?

Night Strike's suggestion is borderline genius.

I suggest actually renaming "Wall" to "My Profile".

speaking of our profiles...

I will be going on vacation and have found an agreeable account sitter. Being a nervous nelly kind of guy, I planned to change my password to a "temp" password for the duration of my absence and then change it back when I return.

I don't see an option anywhere to Change Password. I guess I could log out, go to the home page and have my password reset, but is it that uncommon for folks to change their password that there's no option for doing it from WITHIN one's profile? Or am I just not looking closely enough (something my wife always and rightfully teases me over)?

thanks!
