Do not finish your turn.

Postby King Dain II on Tue Aug 12, 2008 5:13 pm

If you do not take your turn on a freestyle game, both players can begin as soon as the round is over. I was wondering if you do not finish your turn, do both players still get to go as soon as you run out of time, or just the other player?

Yeah, very specific question, not in the rules. Any person want to start a speed game and find out?

Both players get to go, I believe.

Unfortunately, it's confirmed to be the truth.

Yes unfortunately that's the way it works atm (me and some others have suggested a change).

So to put it plainly, you will only be prohibited from going at the start of a turn if you are the one triggering the new turn. If the turn is triggered by something else (an opponent or the clock) then you are good to go.

If you run out of time, which is generally not a good idea... Unless it is no cards, then it might work. Otherwise you are losing a card and or men, if you do not drop. If you run out of time you can start ASAP. Nobody has to trigger anything. In fact doubles speed games are generally no cards and time runs out all the time.
