Flat Card Rates

Postby McSchunalberry on Sun Aug 31, 2008 3:31 am

I was recently playing a game and 4 rounds in i had the player dominated in a game where cards were Flat Rate. That was until he cashed in his cards for 10 armies (mixed cards) and proceeded to run through my armies with this massive bonus killing both the bonuses that i had going for me (he had none). I then cashed my cards in next turn i had (red set) and only received 4 armies which were not enough to allow me to reclaim what i had lost.

So my question is simply, as i think cards are random, why are different colours or mixed worth more than others? To me that removes even more strategy from a game that already has a lot removed. I am relatively knew to this website but was wondering why the rules are as such.

To answer this question... Many people do not play flat rate for this very reason. Where you can get a 4 set, he can a 10 set. Card colors have to be worth X amount for flat to work, so they had to pick numbers and colors. The figured one of each should be worth the most. Just a way to number the cards. :) If you do not like luck based games, try escalating as any set is equal. Just matters when you cash it.

Im sorry but i have a problem with that. To me flat cards should mean just that, flat... so that any 3 cards u cash in should be worth the same amount.... say 6? 8?

This way its still beneficial to collect cards unlike 'no cards' but is also different to escalating. To me the rate system that is implemented is stupid and should be changed. If what you stated is the real reason then some mod or developer has to change it because it is illogical and ruins the game.

It's a flat rate for a certain type of card set. Yep, there's two tiers of luck but that's CC

Cards are given different values to give the game some spice. If every card became worth the exact same, in many games it would come down to who matched 2 cards first. Especially in 1 vs 1's
