Everybody knows FW is a spectator sport, something along the lines of gladiatorial combat and cockfights.

Nobody said this was going to be a utopia... all we're trying to do is create a forum that's better than the ones we already have. So I conclude that you either enjoy the mediocrity of the current forum (sadism), or believe that the current forum is utopia itself (delusion). This will not be a dictatorship, it will be a libertarian oligarchy (at least as I imagined it). So don't spread rumors like that.

You can have as many logical skills as you want, but open-mindedness and creativity play a huge part too.

Not when the typical translation by many people of "Open-mindedness" is "accept that I'm fucking right".

Seriously, way too often logical arguments get replaced by "oh well you just hate God" or whatever bullshit counter-argument the religious come up with. The problem is that the Atheists are the ones that have to be more open-minded, while the religious people are by definition "open-minded". I'm willing to admit that there is a small possibilty that God may exist, there is a logical possibility, are you willing to admit that God might not exist?

What would really help is if you all stopped labeling me. I am not "many people". Here's my idea of someone that isn't open-minded:

Except that the whole idea behind this forum is the fact that we're supposed to do that. I'd join the forum specifically because I don't want to suffer from all the obnoxious douchebags all the time when I know there are also intelligent people I'd like to debate. I don't go outside of flame wars and start flaming people, and I don't troll outside of Chatterbox (and sometimes GD). Okay, I troll a littlle in some places, but I have stuck with positive commentary in the Map-forum and Callouts.
