Premium membership

Is it worth it? I have the credit card in my hand :) and am considering buying. $2 / month isn't too bad!

Also - is it instant activation or do I have to wait?

Considering what it cost to buy a video game or go to the movies, this is worth every penny.

Worth it? I think so, but it just depends on whether you want to play more than 4 games, speed games and want the ability to begin private games.

Given the price of other on-line games, "hard copies" of video games and movies and considering the huge variety of play available here, I would definitely say YES!

you typically go into a shop, and hand them X amount of dollars for Y product, the amount is based upont he fair market value of said item... you can also use dollars to purchase food and pretty much anything you can imagine. neat little deal, the dollar.-0

(Yes, he knows you were referring to the conversion factor)

I did get it last night, it's very nice - I'm already in about 20 games and have played a handful of speeds. $2 or £1 monthly is pretty much a throwaway - a bit over the price of a soda at school. Not so bad :)

Yeah, the price is good.

I have only been a premium for a short time now although i registered for premium almost straight after joining the site. Well i had a lengthy break, came back and bought premium straight away and since then i have been playing almost non stop speed games.

When you consider that a decent computer/play station game costs between 30 and 40 pounds the price for a years membership on this site is more than reasonable. :)

Some people can handle, some can't.

As far as value goes, you can't really beat paying $25 for a year's worth of unlimited games on this site.

That doesn't mean the premium upgrade isn't good value does it??

It just means you can't handle playing more than 4 simultaneous games at once. ;)

I might buy premium, but I'd spend way too much time here if I did (I already do!). Plus, a brand new risk set is only $20 (10 pounds), and that lasts 5-10 years if you take care of it.

Yeah but you can play risk with a lot more different people and with a lot more settings and maps online.

And you know there will always be a speed game available for you to play on CC where as you can't always guarantee someone would be willing to give you a game of risk in really life at any given point. ;)

The problem is that CC is the only place I know of where there's a pool of 500+ playing RISK at any given time. Even though live games are a lot more fun, this will have to do . ;) You can hardly have fog of war or freestyle games at all in real life.

Exactly more settings, more maps and you can play against thousands of different opponents, which is one thing you definitely can't do it real life. I mean when was the last time you played on the Dust Bowl map in real life, or any of the other maps except classic. Personally i prefer CC to really life gameplay, the only thing that is better in real life is the characters you get at the table whereas on CC only around half of the people talk in game chat and some of them are complete idiots.

None the less i still think the premium membership is great value for money on CC and i believe as long as i play here i will have a premium account. :)

You don't get other map options in the board game, either ...
