A New Day on The CC Scoreboard

Postby King_Herpes on Tue Sep 30, 2008 9:56 am

You now need 2500+ points to maintain the first page. Which definitely means that competition is getting stiffer. More people are finding ways to rank up and maintain their rank. I remember when there were less then 20 majors total which was what 2500 pts used to get you before the change. Also only about 7 Colonels when 3000 pts was required. Now there is 190 something Colonels(majors before) and 40 or so Brigadiers(colonels before).

It isn't really so much as stiffer competition (there is a bit of that), but moreso the fact that there is some point inflation occuring.

I wonder why that is Optimus?...On reflection, let's not go there.

I posted this because my brother asked me to. He can not post in the forums currently. He wanted me to make this thread so I did. Now let's keep on topic and watch it with the subtleties, shall we?

When I first joined 2200 was good enough for the top 50-100 easily. You had 10 or less over 3k.Those days are long and gone. Now everyone is scoring a ton of points.

I'd agree 3k is not what it used to be.

If 3,000 is "nothing", then why are you barely above that?

^Wow! You're from another timezone.

Probably, the new gold standard is 4000 or 4500 pts.

I suppose that it is due to new recruits coming to the place, joining 4 fremium games, and losing some points that "enter" the system. After that they leave forever, but the points stay.

The lowest rank: Question Mark
The lowest score: 1000

Alright, but I've beaten you twice now and you still haven't taken me.

The score difference is that I have always had a very low game count, especially compared to JR. 3000 is much harder when you play a few 6 player standards at a time. ;)
