Why can't we have the feedback system back?

what does "ratings" do for you? nothing. people have left me ones that dont even make sense. You could actually say what the person was doing in the game with feedback whether it would be good or bad and play him/her the feedback ratios... i just really dont like the "ratings" they dont really help in any way.

I totaly agree, but there have been a lot of topics about rating etc. They don't change it...

If they just use the old feedback system and they don;t moderate it, the system is perfect for both moderators and players.

that is just beyond false. do you realize how much time was spent fielding/investigating complaints about comments left in the old system? no way they would go back to the old system without moderation, it would be FAR worse than what we have now. i could give frankie a negative and state, "he is an absolute jerk who has no idea how to play the game and he hates small children and kittens", and you would have NO RECOURSE to have it removed! i'd much rather receive a 1 and be able to make a comment back to whatever the lunatic has said.-0

Yes, I highly doubt that anything is going to get changed. The switch was made to get rid of the immense amount of time that the moderators were spending resolving petty feedback complaints. Nobody here on this site is man/woman enough to just let a couple bad feedbacks roll and move on with their lives, everyone has to complain about everything.

There is a reason ratings are not moderated. It's not worth the time expenditure it would require.

I'll be honest, I liked the old system more. But mainly because I enjoyed leaving people surreal rambling passages of text which had no relevance to the game at all, then choosing neg/pos based on the flip of a coin.

The new system is far less fun than that, and gives me a lower number of comedic options... saying "great team-mate" after a 1v1 is about as absurd as it permits.



But basically: Who gives a shit? It's just a silly number that appears by your name. Nobody takes it too seriously, and neither should you. Risk-points really aren't serious business and this isn't a matter that you should be losing so much sleep over.

p.s. I think the designers and moderators of CC are doing an excellent job and we should give them all the credit they deserve for making this wonderful world of CC as great as it is.

The problem is simply that the tags are terribly bland.

I would like to see:

1. Lunatic
2. Cuddly
3. Barbarian
4. Turncoat
5. Confused
6. Farmer
7. Boring
8. Pussy
9. Woofter
10.Spanish Waiter

The more tags there are the more creativity can be put into ratings...

'Confused' 'Pussy' 'Farmer' (for the cowardly and inept point hoarder)

'Lunatic' 'Spanish' Waiter' (for an unusually aggressive Southern European player)

'Barbarian' 'Pussy' 'Confused' (for the player who savagely attacks the weakest player in an assassin game)

I think I have proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that the key here is more tags.

Check the number of subscribers and you'll have the answer to your (admittedly rhetorical) question. This site does change things that's exactly the reason why it does have 1000's of subscribers.

It may not change things in line with your personal preference or mine for that matter, but it does listen and it does change things and generally, despite the impression that can be gained by reading the forums, in line with majority opinion and with approval.

As for why the old feedback system - 'improved' by having no moderation - isn't coming back owen sums it up perfectly. [Somebody pass the smelling salts.]

So what? Wast majority of undeserved negatives are disqualified in forward - by it's own stupidity (or at least, lack of logic/consistency). And even if you're unlucky enough to face a sophisticated scandal-monger (I never was; most people wasn't) - you still ARE able to comment his feedback. And it's MUCH more effective than commenting a bad numeric rating...

And finally, please be kind to answer the next question honestly:
If you see a player with 59-1, 217-3, or such ratio... Do you really bother to check those negatives?

If the lunatic gave you 1 and said nothing, you're basically helpless. If they gave you 3-3-3 and said nothing - you're literally helpless...

Moderated (textual) feedbacks are infinitely better than any other option.
Unmoderated feedbacks are much better than unmoderated ratings.

So what? I mean, no one really cares about the new rating system; it doesn't exactly do its job does it? I only look at it if a person is below a 4. Which honestly, you pretty much have to be trying to get that low of a rating.. Although, I have seen some really pointless ratings before...

The point is that the ratings system was thought up to give us a better idea about our opponets, but everyone on this site is a frickin 4.7 or higher. It's broken.

I do think that we at least need more tags.
