I sure do enjoy this Site.

I payed Money to play. The forum is an added benefit, but of course you do not have to pay to post. I have bought Quite a few memberships. Not Just mine but closer to 30 memberships. So when I say I pay to play I really did Pay.

I did not like that the poor new people did not get a fair shake and were beat up on by us veterans. I complained very vocally about it. Complaining did not help so I Worked with as many players as I could to teach the new to take points and get to a decent level. That was both a good and bad thing. Good for the new players, but alas lol, it cost me points, but well worth it.

I now run the school called The "Society of the Cooks". This is where we teach the new to move up and after they move up they return the favor by teaching more of the new to do the same. I did something positive to change what I disliked.

I have been a member since Jan 2006, and over this Time period I have seen alot of changes some good - some not so good. But with ever change someone has stated how bad the change was and how it should be changed back. Yes there have been changes even I at first disliked, like the new Classic map (which was changed back ) and this new new classic (2 new with the art classic). Also I am a black and white kinda guy, I hate change. But after playing the games I had on the new Classic I realized that it helped me to see some Territories that were better strategically than I had previously thought.

We can all find the Negative with what is happening, in fact, some of us love to find negative. The challenge will be to find the positive. Of course it is not much of a challenge to find the positive, but to vocally acknowledge it. If you dislike something then of course you do have a right to try to change it. But can you do it or do you just grip. And of course since we all do not know exactly what is going on and never will then we need to focus on what is changable and what is not. Or even decide if in the long run it even matters. I play - I enjoy

I know as I love this site that others more articulate than myself will be able to twist any words around.

Say what you want but I love this site!

I agree with the sentiment of course Wac, you know i do.
In that we love the site and want what it is best we differ..not at all.

The only clause i add to that is: we all have our parts to play in shaping change and we all have our own motivations!
With the complete communication black-out, i have still formed my own conclusions and resigned myself to much the same conclusion as you, perhaps for different reasons.

I conclude that we may as well just shut up and accept the demise of the Classic map. Unlike you i can not happily swallow the replacements. The gameplay is familiar and good but not enough to attempt the wedging of a square shape into a round hole. Just keeping it half-alive for old-times sake misses the point, it's like believing in pet-heaven to reduce the pain of losing a favourite dog.

Saying that, all the vying interests may be uncomfortable for Lack and the site but they are also what gets the best result!

To try to dampen debate and blindly accept that the sites rulers are always correct is not helpful even to them. (though in this case i am sure they disagree ;) )

Well said...I think I may have said this in another thread but this site is a whole lot more advanced than it was at the beginning...nobody should be complaining because 2 maps came down and will be revamped to our own liking. I enjoy this site too, Wacicha.

Agreed, those who are ending their membership because of this are overreacting idiots.

I have a problem, though... we have not heard a single word from Lack. You'd think the least he could do is make an announcement about this... :x

Aside from Generation One, which I have no opinion about, I completely agree with you barterer2002. Great top five list.

I do like this site too. I did seem to get a lot more work done before being introduced to this site.

I was awestruck by that 30 number but then again, it is rather satisfying when you buy an unsuspecting freemium a membership.

wacicha, i respect you and your position, but for those paying customers who googled their way to this site in order to play the classic risk game, they are being tossed aside, why should they be asked to accept a substitute?
hasbro actually makes other versions of the risk game, as lack is trying to do, but i for one have no desire to play those other games.

and as far as "lack" seemingly to be in hiding over this, i feel that, that is a bad move on his part i know he "only" charges $25.00
for this site but it seams as though he doesn't care about his customers. why hasn't he used the forums better to address the dye hard classic fans?

and assuming that lack is a smart buisness man, then i would have to imagine that he saw this coming a LONG time ago,
so that would imply that as a buisness man, he took a calculated "risk" and felt that the other maps would appease the masses.?
i would hope that he has been in talks with hasbro to work something out, i do not think that hasbro at this time has any website of their own for people to play risk online, so hopefully c.c. can work this out, and quickly.

This site is Fantastic and I would far rather play on the new Classic (it's really not that bad)than not at all. Lack and the Admin team do a great job providing us with a friendly environment to play a game we love to play.

It is unfortunate that the complainers are always the loudest ones and that they are usually heard above the rest. There are a lot of us who support Lack and the team , unfortunatly we are usually to busy taking advantage of all this site has to offer to waste our time voicing our oppinions in the forums, to a bunch of people who dont want to listen.

So instead of posting about how all the complaining jerks can shove it in flame wars. I just sent a PM to Lack and Twill telling them how much I appreciate what they are doing. Far more effective in my opinion. So I guess if you really do like this site don't forget to let the people responsible for it know.

Woot!!! CC is the best I can't believe how awsomely, fantastic great it is.
I'm addicted to cc and I met so many nice lads, brats, infants, intelligenters (more intelligent then me or just ebtetr at English), girls, models and friends.
What happened to classic was quite annoying, I must agreeespecially when a tourney just started in which I have to play 160 games on this "revamped " classic map, the one with the dots that is. But It will get solved I'm certain of that and the new classic map is not that bad.
I'm hear for almost two year and I enjoyed evry minute of it! I used to play a lot of high ranked folks then switched and became a tourney whore!! I also like the Imperial dragoons a lot!
I agree with the old sage wachicha and all the other positive vibes in this cc galaxy.
And remember Bad karma always finds it way back to people ( I don't even know why the f*ck I said the last :) )
Highest ever: 3038 place: 20th, winner of 12 tournies!
