How many is too many?

Postby cantab on Sun Oct 26, 2008 4:48 am

What's the most numbers of games you've played at once? Was it too many to keep track of?

I think I had 70 odd going at one point. It was too many, and it took about half an hour to get through all of my turns everyday if I were to hurry :? I stick to maybe 20 something now, and play speed games when I get the chance.

My highest was 147. Never again. Never ever again. I maintained Major until about game 70, so I think I did okay :P That was 3 months ago or more. NEVER again!

My highest number of active game at one time was 60 games. It took too much time per day.

I found that 15-20 game (with 6 to 8 players) is a good number.

I had 37 going at once. They were mostly assassin games with 8 players so they didn't pop up for me too often. I would say that 20 is a safe number though.

I figured there would be more in the first responses, so I held off. I've had up to 150 when some of the larger tournaments come out, and in some other special circumstances, and I doubt I've gone under 40 since a month after joining. I usually have between 60 and 100. It's not hard to keep track of the individual games, because they're a wide variety. I only had problems when a series (of 5 or more) with the same players and the same format come up, and then I just resort to using snapshots.

It really only causes problems when I'm away for a weekend, cause sitters hate it.

Once upon a time I had 100 8 man freestyle games going. Talk about sucking the life out of you... ugh...

right now I got 63 active and 48 in waiting.. As long as I keep up to the turns as I see them, then it is ok.

I had like 150 at a time once...bad idea. Took me like an hour and a half to play my turns. Well that was before we could jump to our next playable game..but still it would take a long time. I try to have under 50 now.

The most I ever had was probably somewhere in the 20's. I usually play mostly 1 vs.1, so it goes pretty quick with a few larger games on the side, with speed games when I can get them in. Right now, I usually hold about 10-20 at a time, but it all depends.

I like to keep it inbetween 70 and 100... I've gone above 120 though, on a few occasions.

I think the highest for me was 4.

I've had as many as 160 in the height of summer. A good portion of those were caused by two big tournaments (Assassins of the World and Map Blaster IV), so like BaldAdonis I could take advantage of the map variety. I always keep my active games in the realm of 100.

Indeed. If I brought premium I'd still have not much more than 5 or 6 games at any given time.

I had my all time high of 45, which is just now winding down.

Its hard to keep track of the small things in a game PLUS we had the classic map change which threw me off.

After awhile it became plopping down armies and clicking next game, which isnt as fun as remebering how a specific game is going. 20 games will be my max I think.

Did you ever sleep?

I'm genuinely wondering...

The couple I played showed me you need to watch those games like a hawk if you want a fair chance of winning. 100 at a time? I don't know whether to be worried for your sanity or impressed with your intellect!

I had 120 going a couple of weeks back and I had to waste an hour of my working day playing through all my turns every morning!!

Managed to get it down to about 30 at the moment with some waiting... - I think I'll stick to that sort of level.
