i have worked my whole life and, i still have 10 more years of working before i can retire. the trickle down theory is something i too may be lucky enough to take advantage of but, as i am not a freeloader and work hard for my money, I don't care for a free ride.
it is def. bad enough that my taxes assist people that choose not to work and sit at home and watch TV all day. to me what the government needs to do is start assessing these people and get them trained and out and working.
i think that is what will save this country to put people into the workforce, help businesses so that US companies don't go to other countries and keep the money here. And, get rid of NAFTA. also stop buying defective goods from places like China that are poorly made and, lead painted products that harm children.
There was a time when toys were made to last and were great. furniture lasted almost forever cars were built with pride right here in the USA.
The telephone, television, radio, record players and, many more things that were invented here in the USA.
The gift is just that. the purpose is to show people that a good deed done to a stranger is always good and hopefully a lesson is learned.
The lesson is that you don't need to know someone to be kind. it's not even about money. it's about doing something nice for someone else.
the lesson is that along the road of life a person can meet someone in need and even if it is taking part of your sandwich and giving it to a stranger, helping a senior citizen with their bags of groceries, having a neighbor that is ill and choosing to mow their lawn for nothing more than the good feeling you get when you do something nice. shoveling snow out of someones driveway who is unable to do it. soooo many things.
i have a neighbor in my apartment building she is having trouble going up & down the stairs. every day i bring up her mail or her grocery bags from her car. it doesn't take alot of time and she is greatful. there is another elderly woman who has no car. we take her to go buy groceries, department store shopping, dr. appointments and the neighborhood library. do i really need to do it? no but, i do cause they need help.

If you're joking, then an appropriate emoticon should have been used.

emoticon for an obvious joke? soooo, now we have to hold peoples hands through jokes, so they don't go off on half page posts about whatever it was that put me to sleep by line 4? reading comprehension is pretty much a standard skill that is required to participate in this type of forum. not dogging what the lady wrote, but it was an obvious funny funny by senor whitey (see how i played off the hispanic children theme and transfered that attribute onto whitey for comedic effect, despite the fact that he is asian, all by using the word "senor"? classic.)... anyway, maybe we can go back to that time a few months ago when several of us started putting " {warning: sarcasm ahead} or *sarcasm* ", in front of our sarcastic remarks... sigh... sorry to go off topic, but whitey was just making a joke, and someone really misunderstood and jumped all over his bait... and, being the father of a child and knowing how struggling it all can be, i have managed to get premium twice... TWICE GIFTED!!! I LOVE YOU KATY!!!!-0
