Democracy Clan [forming] [social]

Postby mpjh on Sun Nov 09, 2008 2:06 pm

Is anyone interest in starting a clan based on member participation in a democratic moderator system. All CC members are welcome to join. There are no rules except that a member can be exiled for when 35% of the clan votes the member out. An exiled member may be returned with 50% +1 voter the exile back in. When proposing that a member be exiled the proposed must provide a substantive reason with examples. The only role for the moderator(s) is the monitor the exile proposals for compliance with the one rule, and to enforce the exile decisions of the members.

This thread is just for discussion, but if it needs to be moved I hope the appropriate mod can move it, please.

hmm, gave me an idea of doing like a CC big brother.. Essentially a usergroup with 12 random people signing up, each having to vote someone off each week, least popular goes at the end of the week. I personally can't be assed to run such a concept, but if anyone would run it I'd co-help.

The idea here is to have a clan without the fractious nature of many I have been in. Discussion is free form and unrestricted. Exile only occurs with at least 35% of the clan finds the member's participation lacking for some reason. A 35% boogie is very difficult to reach, if the clan is large enough, so the clan should remain fairly rough and tumble, but not completely raunchy.

we're an anarco-sydicalist commune. We take it in turns to be a sort of executive officer for the week...
King Arthur: Yes...
Dennis: ...but all the decisions of that officer have to be ratified at a special bi-weekly meeting...
King Arthur: Yes I see...
Dennis: ...by a simple majority in the case of purely internal affairs...
King Arthur: Be quiet!
Dennis: ...but by a two thirds majority in the case of...
King Arthur: Be quiet! I order you to be quiet!

Just an FYI, but that's exactly how DBC is run. It's a competative clan though... ;)

I would be in this, if you were to start it.

Why is this moved to Create/Join a Clan, if it's still hypothetical?

i duno who moved it either but... if you plan on making this into a clan for real, ill have to ask that you use the tags that other clans use in the heading, and if you are not, i suppose ill get MarVal to move it whare it belongs which... im not sure whare that would be since it was moved from GD

Crikey, a clan like that could never happen on cc...could it?

If you were doing your "job" you would see that the thread was moved by a mod to where it is. Besides you are just a wanna be mod.

if you would have read my first post i said that the thread was moved here and obviously regular players dont have powers so i know a mod moved it, and also gave a helping hand to having marval move it to whareever it needs to be, no need to have such an additude friend ;)

mpjh... he's just doing his job. He wasn't accusing you of moving this here yourself. He was just telling you, like he's been assigned to do, that topics in this forum usually have tags in the title like [recruiting] and [social]. He was asking if you planned on making this clan yet -- if not, he'd let MarVal (a mod) know that this thread doesn't actually belong here. If so, you should add those tags to the title.

Nobody has once thought you moved this here yourself. Everyone knows it was a mod. Nobody thinks a player is capable of doing this.

Thanks for the info. I started it in GD because I thought that was where it belonged as a discussion. It was moved by a mod. I really don't care where it is, just so long as members can respond to it. The mods can put it where ever they want, I have no control over that.
