HELP, please!!!

Postby The Neon Peon on Mon Nov 10, 2008 7:16 pm

Okay, what type of game involves no dice at all. No dice whatsoever. The only luck comes from drop, the rest is just who can play better.

Rolls I lost gotten in the past 48 hours:
19 v 2
14 v 3
12 v 3
30 v 15
7 v 1
9 v 1
11 v 4
12 v 2

The list can go on forever. I have been losing 2 men every time I roll against a 1 (me rolling 3 dice, I am not an idiot). I can't seem to win the most basic roll like a 9 v 1 in order to break a bonus worth 5.

Sure, the dice are random, and the only people who complain about them are those that lose because of strategy. Good for me, I have lost 300 points of my skill in the past two days from where I have been for over 1 month. And seeing as I am unable to recover, I must have only maintained above 1900 due to dice for one and a half months. I agree with all of this 100%. I obviously forgot how to play completely, and am therefore no longer skilled enough for a 19 v 2 roll win.

So, since I am obviously clueless in the process of pressing attack and winning... is there any way I can play on a map that does not involve dice? I understand escalating... but the problem is that you need to attack before you get yourself a card. My inability to win a 6 v 1 on a regular basis hinders me from getting the high values there, so I am kind of stuck.

Help Please.

Wow. That ... that really sucks.

The idea behind City Mogul is that you end up with so many friggin' armies that dice shouldn't play a major role. Might want to try that one out to change your luck a little.

I recommend having a good cry in the forums. It can be very therapeutic.

Yep, just here to blow off steam. This forum never gets much attention, and I don't want to go post in Flame Wars.

Out of curiosity though...

Does it bother anyone when you deploy 9 troops for 5 rounds in a 1 v 1 game, you opponent deploys 3 for those same 5 rounds. It is a no cards game. Then in one round your opponent attacks a stack, loses nothing, then takes over half your territories. You try to pull yourself together and get bad dice. You lose.

Does this bother anyone?

I've lost 14 v 2 when I was banking on that 14 killing 2,1,1,2,2 to break an enemy bonus. That was annoying. I didn't even take my own bonus back. I went 0-12 without killing a single army and it was 1v2 left for the roll so I stopped.

Never happens. If I got that many armies, he wouldn't live long enough to attack anything, and I certainly wouldn't pile them all into one place to make them easy to attack. If you don't use 'em, you lose 'em. Defensive dice are terrible.

Try Chess ...or perhaps checkers.

Seriously, I once lost 30 to 1 and almost never will use auto-attack any more. That helps. If it looks like you are losing, just don't attack any more!

lol. I do play chess, and am, in fact, very good at it. When I lived in Utah, I used to be the top person in the state. Now that I am in texas, my high school has 5 people ranked over 1800 (instant win in any state tourney, pretty much), and puts us as one of the top in the country, if not the top.

Thanks for the suggestion though. The streak ended. Boosted me up several hundred points, that did.
