Undo feature

Postby UmichAg on Thu Nov 20, 2008 10:13 am

This game really, really needs some type of "Undo" button or some message asking whether or not you really want to end assaults. Yes, I should check which buttons I'm pressing, but on numerous occasions I've ended my turn prematurely by pressing the "End Assaults" button.

if you get clickable maps you can make it ask you that kind of stuff

Bob offers that function as well, but I find the best method is to make the mistake a few times where it costs you dearly. You'll be more careful after that. It worked for me.

Granted, the confirm feature in Bob worked for me for a while, but eventually, clicking "OK" in the pop-up window became so natural, that I started making the same mistakes, even with it asking if I was sure.

It's true that there are plugins which offer this feature, but even with those measures I still sometimes make a booboo. And it can hurt my opponent as much as it can hurt me - let me offer you an example. Just today I was sweeping my last opponent on Australia, only one territory left. I use all my armies until they are down to 1's, and can't finish him off. So I end the turn and wait for next turn. Whoops! I didn't notice that I had 9 armies left on a connected territory I forgot about. Sucks for my opponent more than it sucks for me, since he has to begrudgingly take one more turn.

That said, I dont actually think there is a pressing need or good argument for an undo button. I just thought it was an interesting example and wanted to share. :)

there is no UNDO button to press in the rl. ... So it is better looks realistic without UNDO button...You will be careful with ur moves and buttons you press on...

No, in real life, you can decide to continue your attacks until you pick up a card/make reinforcements.

For some reason, the GUI for Conquer Club makes me (maybe others) to click the wrong button on numerous occasions.

You'll learn not to do that, eventually.
