Help a newbie with two terms

Postby Petrocelli on Tue Dec 16, 2008 7:49 pm

Two terms I have seen used are "chain" (in reference to supply) and "fort".

What do these words mean?

Is there a place that defines these terms?

Thank you.

I think I figured out "chain".

"With chained reinforcements, you can reinforce once and from a region connected by regions you own.

With adjacent reinforcements, you can reinforce once and only from a direct neighbour. This requires you to plan your deployment and advances more carefully.

With unlimited reinforcements, you can reinforce as many times as you like from regions connected by regions you own. This makes the game easier and more flexible."

I'll keep trying to learn. I predict a general rank by 2010!

Still doesn't explain what "fort" means, since the term has been changed. Anyway, "fort" is fortification, which is now called reinforcement

The term "fort" is short for "fortification", which is what reinforcements used to be called(and are still called by a lot of players).

edit- yeah. what he said.

Yeah, I've been wondering about the term Farming. So far I believe it means, to pick on the newbies in order to gain easy points.

A Glossary would be very helpful. Some one's going to tell me there is one and reveal my secret, that I'm a complete arse.

Exactly correct, although it can also mean playing in a lot of games with ? marks in the hope that they will deadbeat and so give away free points.

There wasn't one (at least not up to date) but there is now!
