Calling out all big dogs!

Postby BigBallinStalin on Mon Dec 22, 2008 10:54 pm

I will do a 2v2 with any you of wimps; and I will dominate you. You will be destroyed by my hand of devout justice! This is a slap in the face, good sirs. I do hope it stings.

Ach, you be in vain, my dear cook.

The big dogs got up there by not risking any points on playing peons like us.

I've challenged in the past with no bites. Your best bet is to find the odd Major and up that actually has the sack to play speed. But they are few and far between.

Embarassing trend here, the higher the rank the bigger the pussy......

Unless some officer want's to step up?

No???

Didn't think so.

Well..I want to discuss this point as well but not sure here is the proper place. If you goes up higher in rank, you will lose more and gain less to the lower ranks.

I'm not being snobbish or have segregation in mind or whatever. It just doesn't make sense to put your effort and mind.

And I'm seeing higher rankers going for team games. I guess by that way, they will get more points. Or they go for assassin or esclating games or freestyle games. For me, those games represent quick approach of wham-bam-thank-you ma'am approach without really putting much time & effort.

I'm talking about casual games here. If it is speed, I think some times you need good 4 to 6 hours ( or sometimes more). I don't know about others but I simply can't give that much time in one sittings.

Anyway, that is my opinion.

Letitrock:
Well with all due respect, your either here for the game, or here for your status. I respect your opinion, but the whole " It's not worth it " angle seems a little shallow.

But that being said that's why I'm not an officer. I'd rather play anyone than be selective and it costs me in rank.

Thanks for the offer NateW. I'll P.M you after Christmas.

Cheers!

Well, you know if you think about it - let's say, it is a bet, if you lose, you will have to pay $50 bucks and if you win, you will get $10. Will you place such a bet? The probability of you winning is let's say 50%?

I'm not overly point conscious kind of person and I like good strategy games and have fun.

I know too well how it is hard to get points when you are down and out. I have been from major to 1st Sergent in a week when I played indiscriminately. So, I decided to make some nosing around on colonel and such. How they play and maintain points.

I just randomly choose some high-ranking users and see what kind of games they play. They usually play freestyle, escalating games or team games. And they don't have very many active playing games ( like may be under 10 average?).

My findings are by no means conclusive but since I don't like freestyle, escalating or team games, I decide to play selective games with higher rank users. My reasoning is that they know the game, have good strategy that I can learn a thing or two while playing and not worry a lot about losing too many points. And I can be of clear conscious that I am not bullying the noob and earn my own points.

When your focus is obtaining points, which are illusionary in value to playing the game itself which brings tangible enjoyment then your missing the point of being here......Like many others.

Too much focus on points and the "status" some THINK it brings.

I'll look at feedback and ratings then premium status before even looking at a players rank. I care if I win, but not who I loose against.

All these fucking farmers are making rank worthless anyway.

Would I bet $50 on the chance I'll win $10?
Yes I would. Because the fun is in the odds, not the accumulation of cash.

And I'd even bet you that $50 but I've been chewed and threatened by the mods for gambling here already.

But hey, protect them points, you silly sneetches. ( Remember Seuse? )Your leader board is full of fraud, your conquerer is the biggest farmer ever, and protecting your rank is like mothering a ball of shit.

ciao!

There is a fine line between enjoying the carrot on a stick aspect of gaining rank versus the "gain points at any cost" mentality that seems to be eroding the true spirit of competition on this site.

For every online game I have played there have always been a group of tools who wish to exploit mechanics simply because they can, devoid of any true enjoyment of gamesmanship or its meaning.

Sadly that is what the leaderboard has become.

PAH!!!

The REAL J.R. ??????

You are refer to JohnnyRocket24?

Separate entities. He's the 24th clone made from my hair clippings. The first 23 we liquidated due to horrific deformities, but we kept this one around to make coffee and toast the bagels.

Johnny Rocket Fingers is the full handle. The site however won't let me use all of the characters. Go to newgrounds.com and search it up. It is one of the best flash cartoons EVER made.

Oh, and to keep with the topic, Wanna game there Big Dog?
