CC gets an additional membership uh, "premium plus" or something. The price is jacked up a bit. The only extra benefits of premium plus is the ability to play classic and middle earth maps and the added benefit of having the gameplay terms changed back for that user.

Maybe also just a plain "plus" membership, cheaper than premium and u get the perks described above.

The deal with Hasbro is that they get a cut of the "plus" & "premium plus" membership fee. Possibly toss in a Hasbro logo/ad on the bottom left and a link to the Hasbro site selling Risk.

It'd help to attract new members just by simply putting the classic map back up, and with the copyright we could potentially make classic even more classical looking.

I like this idea. It's much better than mine, which was for everyone who wanted classic back and had a few bucks to spare to put all their extra cash into some kind of fund and buy the rights to use classic on the site again when the fund got big enough. :P

Anyway, does Hasbro own the ME map? Or is that just any ME map on which you move numbers around?

Need to remember that hasbro is a big shot company that makes millions, the extra few hundred (maybe thousand) dollars this would generate wouldn't turn an eye for hasbro. Hasbros net income for 2007 was approx 333 million.

I find it very unlikely that hasbro would put the resources or time into such a project that would generate very little profit ontop of there current pofit lines. Heck, they could just stick a million in the bank and earn more through intrest.
What do you know about map making, bitch?

Just throwing this out there... Copyright isn't something that's buyable. Copyright is a term used for the laws that protect the invention of any particular entity, be it a person or a company. One can petition to buy a special contract with the company to use it's materials that are under Copyright law, but that's usually super expensive, and since CC doesn't exactly make hundreds of dollars daily, I don't see how this could do anything but drive them into the ground.

Yeah, that's what I meant.

Any idea how much this kind of thing would cost?

A shit ton. Hundreds of thousands, if not millions. They have the Copyright, so they can pick any amount in the world they want. Also, they'd probably charge over time for useage of their Copyrighted material. They'd drive CC to the ground, or at least try to.

Oh dang.

Well then I guess we can stop talking about buying the rights to the map and start talking about wacky ways to get the Classic Map back.

Not necessarily i found this site case i typed in conquer on google

How in the heck did Stephen spell conquer correctly?

I would have expected you to stumble onto that "Conkers" game the brits play...

When you type it phonetically you get Conker...
Which brings you to this:

The name comes from the dialect word conker, meaning hard (related to French conque meaning a conch), as the game was originally played using snail shells. The name may also be influenced by the verb conquer, as the game was also called conquerors. Conkers are also known regionally as obblyonkers, cheggies or cheesers.

Although today it's played with Chestnuts...

So now you see how important spelling really is...
Just imagine... instead of conquering worlds, you'd be whacking your nuts...
