millej i think marv was being sarcastic. if your to thick to realise that then you are very much a stupid kid. in rugby union there are plent y of doctors that play the game because it is mainly middle class people that play it in the north of england we created rugby league for the working class.

also i remember someone saying in football the team that play the best always win. BOLLOCKS i have never heard of so much shit. last year man city played bolton wanderers. city hit the woodwork 6 times had 18 shot at goal but did not score bolton went on the break had 1 shot at goal scored won 1-0. now you can not say they were the better side even there manager big sam allardyce said they were lucky. this happens quite a lot in games around the world. if it was so easy to pick a winner, it is just like horse racing the favourite does not always win even in a 2 horse race.

Football..it was invented before american football and was called football before american football..

Rugby..same sport without the gay pads...invented before american football.

People in america generally came from europe and those same people invented american football. At first it was pretty much rugby, but they decided it could be more violent if one wears pads. As it became more popular and guys started getting bigger and faster, the use of pads increased as injuries did as well. Rugby guys, are tough, raw, banged up skinny, bony guys. they are like the rough version of soccer. but its not football, not really comparable. Football has harder hitting, more complex plays, and simply different rules. With rugby, everyone needs excellent stamina for running around.

Any anyway, if a team is paying a guy 10 million a year, they are probably going to want maximum padding to prevent an injury to their million-dollar player, dontcha think? Anyway, enough people get hurt in football as it is.

Yeah, sure, that 350lb blob of fat covering the QB is probably in the best shape of his life.

Fat people don't make it in professional rugby because: 1: They don't get a 5 minute rest between each play, 2: every player on a rugby pitch runs constantly to keep up with the play and 3: In rugby your fat guys don't get to waddle off when the defending is done.

And btw, I'd love to see a QB face the play without his girly padding. They cry hard enough when they get hit WITH pads.

Here's a short video of some of the recent hits in Australian league rugby. http://www.break.com/index/rugbyhits.html

Rugby guys skinny and bony? Ha. You're an idiot. Rugby players have to do everything.. tackle, pass, run, kick. We're muscular because we have to take and make hits, we're fast because we have to run for 80 minutes, we're dextrous because we have to pass and dodge and we're HARD because we don't wear padding.

Here's a clip of two New Zealand wingers. I guess you'd call them "wide receivers", and in your sport they'd be slight and speedy.

Your football is soft compared to rugby, and dull as hell when compared to our football. It's got nothing, which is why 5 billion people love our football, and not even all of one country loves yours.

5 billion people DON"T love soccer. Only Europe, and parts of South America like soccer. Soccer has about 400 million fans world wide. That's alot, but not when you compare it to the 1 billion people who watch the NFL's Superbowl ever year all across the globe. Hmmm, how many people watched the last World Cub, OMG, only wow 400 million, across the globe. It would seem the NFL is over twice as popular as soccer. Soccer is a gay ass pansy sport played by euro pussies who can't do nothing but kick a fuckin ball like a little punk kid. I played that in elementary school, it was called kickball.

when u get tackled by just a plain shoulder ur body can absorb the hit pretty easily, but when u get hit by a hard shoulder pad it goes right to your bones. 3 years ago a kid on my football team died cuz he locked his knee 2 make a juke & got hit in a leg with the person tackling hims helmet...shattered his platella & femur so his body couldnt produce enough blood & he died during the surgery
those blogs of fat run 40 meters in 4.3 seconds
& the wr's & cb's run it in under 4 secs
next time u make a remark about a sport & u have never played it, keep ur mouth shut

You think you dont get hurt in Rugby? Try to get up after being tackled by Martin Johnson(shame he dusn play anymore) or any of the other international players. American Football requires very little fitness. No stamina needed at all(2 minute breaks after everything they throw a ball, like wtf?!?!?), very little speed in most the players (Henry, Rommadahl, Eto'o, Owen, Toure could all pwn American Footballers in sprints), no flexibility as acrobatic maneuvers to make stuff look good just dun happen in American Football. Once thing you do need is patience, because the game just drags on forever. At least in football you know its not going to be much longer then 90 mins(about 5 mins of injury time is normal).

For the idiots who think football is boring, you think pretty much 6 billion people will follow a boring game? Its the worlds most popular game for a reason. Very easy to understand, almost unlimited skill involved, a lot of strategy at professional level, and because of the excitement of the game. You think only Europeans celebrate football goals and get exiting during matches? Try watching a few more matches involving African/South American/Australasian teams.

Finally, the World Cup last year produced a culmative total of 28 billion viewers. Every professional American Football match in a whole season added together will not even beat that total. American Football is popular in about 2 countries. Football is popular in over 150 countries. The facts speak for themselves.

hmmm 28 billion viewers, on a planet with 6 billion people, odd. The worl Cup final drew 400 million viewers WORLDWIDE. The Superbowl has 1 BILLION viewers every year.

Hey, Jamie... He said CUMULATIVE.... Do you know what that big word means...? It means, ALL TOGETHER...

And you know how many people watch the Superbowl each year that don't give a f*ck about football and haven't watched another game all season? A GREAT majority of that 1 billion...

Soccer fans are soccer fans year round... Football fans are victims of happenstance, because it is a good reason to get drunk...

Don't try to distort reality with your fucked up ways.

Heres an idea, learn to fcking read. CULMATIVE total. Try looking it up in a dictionary you dumb American. Btw, I just double checked, it was in fact 30 billion culmative total. Also, 400 million for the World Cup final? You really like talking out of your arse dont you. A third of the UK population watched it, and the world cup final viewing figures range from 1.5 billion to 2.1 billion viewers, which is 25%-33% of the worlds population. Here the link to a site that quotes 1.5 billion. http://209.85.135.104/search?q=cache:yC ... =clnk&cd=8

A max of 45 seconds after every play dipshit

45 seconds break after everytime a ball is thrown. If they had any fitness there is no way they could get tired. Football is normally at least 20 mins continuos play. Even when the ball goes out players have to get into their positions quickly to either help the attack, or to help defend. The only rest is when a player get injured, or if there is a booking.

Are you shiting me??? America has the fastest people in the WORLD. Just look at olympic records.

Once again, check your facts. The fastest times are by Asafa Powell, and 9 out of the 14 fastest times are by non-americans, so you do not have the fastest people in the world. The fastest people are black people, mainly Carribean and African blacks. Also, 2004 Olympics, 4 x 100 metres, where did USA finish? O yer, thats it, SECOND! A country with 20% of your population beat you, ie UK.

When you have nothing better to do, yeah

If American Football was so good, as Americans try to make out it is, those 6 billion people who do watch football would watch American football instead, but football is much more popular for the reasons I stated earlier.

5 billion people DON"T love soccer. Only Europe, and parts of South America like soccer.

Wow, you lot really do talk a lot of b*llsh*t, try looking at this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_sport

Pretty much all of Europe, Africa and South America, as well as large portions of asia. Football is also now the #1 sport in China(if you read further down), and in 4/13 states in India.

Hey Titanic... Don't judge all Americans because of the shitty ones.... I promise that I am in full agreement with not liking American football, and I watched nearly every World Cup game this last year.

I'm trying to watch rugby, now, but it is hardly ever on in America... At least not on any channels I get.

Only stupid people think American Football is more popular. And it won't ever be because the rest of the world likes soccer. But American football is better though

No, if American Football was better, shudn it be more popular then it is now? Its played in 1 country professionally. If it was so good as you make it out, at least 1 other country in the world should be playing it.

No, just because something is better, doesn't mean it will be the most popular. Soccer is a traditional sport in most countries. Those countries won't ever accept American Football because it's not part of the countries history or tradition.

Take for instance the american economy, It is obviously the best, and most efficient form of economy. But all the other foolish countries think that the socialist or capatilist economies are better, so then it's more popular than the american form of economy.

NFL Europe teams play in Germany and Holland professionally, but are mostly American players. they used to have pro teams in England and Scotland as well, but they couldn't sustain them.

Ahh the good old "i dont actually have a comeback line so maybe if i accuse the guy of being gay ill look cool"

Nothing about the fact that american football is a big group of sexual confused fatboys who feel the need to run into each other touching each other up for 3 hours..but if calling me gay helps you feel better about yourself feel free :)
