It's the total miles that you'll want to look at officially, but yes average per map tells the same thing basically...and yes benga is leading the whole crew at the moment.

Woolleyy has just hit LA, stopped to check out a Lakers game and is back on the road, so Leg #6 will be an elimination on the Southern Route as well.

About half of leg 6 maps are complete and many of those still active are fighting for every mile to stave off elimination.

Southern Warrior and 1joe60 are the first victims of the Southern Route with Warrior breaking down just as he pulled through Portland on the 1-5 corridor, while 1joe60 was dragged from his truck at a remote Washington truck stop and has gone missing shortly after starting his route.

Just a handful of Leg 6s still going...I'll get Leg 7s (or most of them) out on Monday.

Hooray, just pulled into Salt Lake City, having won Game 6770908 from dowian2. Quick pit stop for food & drink, back in cab & onwards to Omaha, trying to keep a distance between me the 2 close behind me!

busy day at work, so look for further updates on Tuesday, but eliminations are in for the Rocky Mountain route...Sanstorm1903 was left in the desert and dowian2 was nipped at the truckstop, falling four miles short of danryan.

Looks like I'm going to have to find another gear to make sure I'm not eliminated in the first elimination up north. Should be a close one between myself, Jonty125 and Ess for that dreaded 7 spot.

Also, addressing Dresden's concern...the formula fell out on a couple recent results...so here's a minor rules tweak...

If a player wins the map AND comes in with fewer miles than the losing player, he will be granted +2 in the "owned card" category for each rainbow card set he turned in during play.

For the two games that this has affected...here's how the miles changed.
Original: Dresden 69, opponent 86 -- Rule change: Dresden 88, opponent 86
Original: jrh_cardinal 71, opponent 79 -- Rule change: jrh_cardinal 83, opponent 79

I'm not a huge fan of mid-tourney rule changes, but this seems like a minor tweak, and I definitely want the winning player to have at least some edge on the mileage.

Driver's charts and maps will be updated at some point this weekend...we have about 5 Leg 7 maps ongoing.

Benga turned in another big leg and is just 73 miles from Denver and the second elimination on the Heartland route.

In other pools, Ess # miw has taken over the lead in the North and coacheberhardt is in front in a tight jumble in the Rockies route.
