Oh, and this first set was a five-minute one.
And yes it was very strictly timed, most of the work leading up to it was to condense all the funny stuff I'd written (which in the course of a normal conversation would have lasted about 45 minutes, even if everyone else shut up) into the funniest five minutes (better make it four and a half to allow them time for laughing) I could do. Other stuff was shortening sentences, moving the funny word to the end of the phrase, etc.

I'm at an "Open Mike" standup comedy night tomorrow night.

Two people get to be booked for a professional appearance:
The funniest one, and the one who sells the most tickets.

Now, obviously you have to come.

If you think I'll get a professional appearance 'cos I'll obviously be the funniest there, well, why would you miss it?

But if you think that I might not be the funniest, well then obviously you have to come and buy a ticket so that I get the professional engagement the other way.

Either way, you have to come and I have to win.

The show is at the Brook Arts Centre, 10 Hamilton Street, Bound Brook, NJ. It's on the NJT train line to Highbridge (The Raritan valley line). The show starts at 8pm. It's $15 a ticket.

OK everyone - I'm still standing.

Last Thursdays effort went rather well, though I had almost nobody in the audience.

Two possibilities for a future jonesey sighting atm - the first is that I'm signing up for "Luca" in NYC. Problem is that I don't know util sometime Sunday if I'm on (don't know this week yet), and the gig is on Monday night, which gives me no time to let you guys (or anyone else) know.

The other one is quite exciting -

October 22nd (that's Friday) at 10.30 pm (prime comedy time) at the Broadway Comedy Theatre in Times Square NYC.

New Yorkers, and others, come and see Jonesey in action.
